This is the perfect romantic bolthole hidden away among the rolling West Yorkshire countryside, close to the long-distance trail, the Calderdale Way. Once a farm building, it has now been lovingly converted into a characterful space for you, your loved one and your canine companion.
Head inside this stone-built, single-storey property and find yourself within the sumptuous, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Vaulted ceilings and skylights provide a bright and airy space where you can cook up a storm in the practical and contemporary kitchen. Once you’re done preparing delectable meals together, you can enjoy them at the breakfast bar which will seat you both. Spend chilly evenings wrapped up together on one of the comfortable sofas in the lounge while you watch something on the TV, get stuck into a good book, or plan the days ahead.
When you are ready for some sleep, head through to the splendid bedroom which has a beamed ceiling and is super warming and welcoming. It also contains a stylish en-suite shower room with a WC. Indulge in a glass of your favourite tipple or enjoy dining alfresco in the outside courtyard. Take a seat on the bench and watch the world go by.
The little village of Greetland has plenty of amenities to keep you occupied during your stay. Choose from several pubs offering up a variety of dishes and drinks, as well as a couple of restaurants and coffee shops. If you are keen walkers, you should head off along the Calderdale Way, a 50-mile walk which winds through the undulating hills, moors and valleys of Calderdale and passes alongside the village. The bustling town of Halifax (3 miles) has plenty to see and do in the way of shops, restaurants and intriguing museums.
