Escape to the quintessential Yorkshire village of Escrick, a charming destination that’s well known for its gastronomic reputation and stunning backdrop of sprawling countryside. Studded on the outskirts of town, the friendly holiday park is home to a cluster of properties including your lodge-style accommodation. Sleek, stylish and boasting fabulous views, this abode is an excellent base for your party of six to explore the surrounding landscape. Discover the village restaurant, gastropub, and hotel/spa, or venture to York, 8 miles away to find plenty of activities for all ages. An array of local shops, bars and historic monuments such as the minster and the city walls wait to be explored! The market town of Selby is located just 5.5 miles away on the river Ouse with many local shops and delicatessens. It is famous for its historic abbey as well as for being part of the Trans Pennine Trail cycleway.

Walk up the steps and enter to discover a contemporary open-plan living space that’s been lovingly designed with comfort in mind. Natural light pours in through the French doors and highlights the vaulted ceilings, creating a breezy sense of relaxation as you kick off your boots and prepare to relax. Cleverly divided into lounge/kitchen/dining areas, you’ll soon find yourself curling up on the sumptuous sofas, switching on the Smart TV to catch up on your favourite series or watch a family film together. Wake up to fresh coffee brewed from the coffee machine, then perch to gaze through the French doors over to the wildlife pond beyond.

The effortlessly chic kitchen area boasts an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, and microwave for all your culinary and cleaning needs. Return from the village with armloads of delicious goodies, rustling up a feast fit for a king and serving it in style on the centre island. Hop on to the bar stools and savour every mouthful of your meal, but remember to save some space! The welcome hampers have a whole host of goodies to enjoy, as well as robes and slippers to borrow.

To the rear of the lodge are the three elegant bedrooms, all of which are designed in a contemporary style with Smart TVs in every room for leisurely TV viewing. One bedroom offers super-king-size zip-and-link beds and there is a king-size room with a generous en-suite shower room. The third bedroom is also a king-size with plenty of wardrobes and storage. Completing this property is the spacious family shower room. At the end of a busy day, there is nothing quite like a refreshing shower before sinking into the most comfortable bed imaginable.

Outside, your decked veranda offers unrivalled vistas of the wildlife ponds and woodland, and is safely enclosed for the waggy-tailed visitors. Here you can unwind with al fresco drinks in the seating area, enjoying an aperitif before descending to the spacious patio which holds a brick-built BBQ and picnic bench. For the ultimate treat, shrug off your robe and dip your shoulders beneath the bubbling warm water of the pergola-covered hot tub.

The lodge is within an award-winning holiday park with an array of activities for all ages, surrounded by beautiful woodland walks, cycle trails and countryside. Tennis courts, a fishing lake, a bowling green and bike hire are also available (additional charges apply). There is a general EV charging point on the holiday park but not specific for the lodge.

The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, the city of York lies just 8 miles from the property. We think York is one of the best short break destinations in England and is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. This ancient walled city has been the north's spiritual capital for 2,000 years, but that's not to say it is stuck in the past; York's affluent population and its influx of tourist pounds has helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Everywhere in York is easily reachable by foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Middle Ages' town planning means it can take quite some time to get your bearings but finding your way around the labyrinth of warped streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and Bettys tearoom whilst you're there.

If you are looking for outside space in which to relax, you have the choice of a number of parks and gardens, including Dean's Park next to the Minster, the Yorkshire Museum Gardens next to the River Ouse and, slightly further afield, Rowntree Park with its children's playground, tennis courts and bowling green.

And, what's more, it really is a year-round location. Summer days can be spent lounging in one of the gorgeous parks and, in the autumn, York comes alive with shop windows sparkling in the dusky light. Its central location also makes a great base from which to explore the rest of glorious Yorkshire, with the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Yorkshire coastline all within easy reach for beautiful walks and adventurous days out.
