A delightful romantic retreat nestled on the edge of the small village of Bubwith. The traditional village pub serves local cask ales and delicious home-cooked food with a warm welcome. The village also offers a convenience store with long opening hours. Guests can enjoy visiting the local deli, wine and gift shop, as well as a renowned local butchers, and an Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant/takeaway. With many local walks from the doorstep, the local countryside is just waiting to be explored, with all the attractions of North Yorkshire slightly further afield. Based just 13 miles from the historic minster city of York there are activities for everyone. Walk the beautiful cobbled streets, visit the magnificent minster or place your bets at York Racecourse while sipping champagne in the sunshine.

Set in the owner's grounds, which extend to just over an acre, yet where privacy is assured. The property is securely tucked away behind electric gates. Inside, all the rooms are on one level. Enter the property into the hallway, with plenty of space for coats and boots and leads into the spacious kitchen, ideal for cooking up a romantic meal for two. The dining area with seating for four is positioned in a very light and relaxing garden room with patio doors out onto the decking offering amazing views of the garden and countryside beyond. The garden room also has a door that leads directly into the heated indoor swimming pool and sauna, ideal for a relaxing dip or a quick length or two of the pool before breakfast. Relax in the lounge after a long day of exploring with comfy seating and a Smart TV, making it ideal whatever the weather or time of year. The master bedroom is a double, and completing the property is the shower room.

Outside there is a large decked area and extensive gardens extending to just over one acre, shared with the owner, including a Japanese garden and areas laid to lawn with mature shrubs and trees.

Lovely cottage. Extremely spacious for 2 people. Having access to the pool was the icing on the cake. Beautiful garden extremely relaxing and peaceful.

We have used Holiday Cottages a number of times to find pleasant get aways. We have never been disappointed. However Willow Lodge was in a different class. Private swimming pool and sauna accessed from a lovely garden room. More luxury spa get away than simply a cottage :)

This is a lovely, clean and comfortable lodge, attached to the owners house. It has direct access to the pool which guests have private use of, outside the daily swimming lessons. The japanese gardens are lovely to wander through, with peaceful seating areas. The location is perfect, set in a small village with an excellent pub, Indian restaurant/tRead moreakeaway and deli. The butchers is also fab (we stocked up before leaving!). York is 20 mins and lots of other places are easy to reach. Hide
