Property code: 91102

Discover this gorgeous two-bedroom wooden lodge in an idyllic location in the Yorkshire Dales. Set in an elevated position, it looks out onto the lush green pastures of Wensleydale. The village gastropub is only 200 metres away. Just down the hill, there is a tiny rural train station where you can hop aboard the Wensleydale steam trains – heaven for kids and rather delightful for adults too – and head up to Leyburn for lunch before taking the train back home again! Beyond the village is the attractive town of Bedale (6.5 miles). In the opposite direction, you’ll find the charming market towns of Leyburn (4.5 miles), Richmond (10 miles) and Northallerton (14 miles).

The attention to detail in this single-storey lodge is second to none, offering guests a high level of luxury and elegance, whilst retaining a relaxed homely atmosphere in what can only be described as a truly spectacular part of the country. The generous welcome pack will ensure that your holiday gets off to a great start, and the lodge is gifted with spectacular views from every window. Drag yourself away from the view, and you'll find a gorgeous open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining space – perfect for entertaining. The kitchen has every modern convenience you could wish for, so you can pop on the DAB radio and create a home-cooked feast before dining together around the table. After dinner, sit back and relax on the sofa, with a warm blanket and the flame-effect bioethanol fire flickering away while you watch the sun go down. For extra entertainment, the dining table cleverly converts to a snooker table and ping-pong table. The lodge has two generously sized bedrooms, the first is a super-king-size room with plenty of storage and a Smart TV – great for lazy lie-ins. The second bedroom is a single room with a pull-out full-size single. Both beds are fitted with comfy mattresses and are dressed in 400 thread count cotton. Completing the property is the large family bathroom.

The enclosed garden is perfect for little ones to run around safely, with a variety of outdoor toys to keep them happy. The paddock surrounding the cottage to the rear is home to Shetland ponies, and the kids will love coming out to say good morning every day. The decked veranda, with its glass balustrades, has the most picturesque views of the Yorkshire Dales countryside, and you can often see the steam trains of the Wensleydale Railway puffing along below. Dine alfresco using the garden furniture, or sink into relaxation in the electric Jacuzzi hot tub and bathe beneath the stars twinkling in the night sky.
