With a fabulous open-plan living space and flexible sleeping arrangements perfect for a group of six, this off-the-beaten-track property is a real find! Centrally located for adventures in the surrounding countryside, a railway station close by means you can enjoy car-free days out further afield too. Surrounded by a patchwork of fields and set in the corner of a pretty courtyard, this three-bedroomed holiday abode delivers the best of all worlds. The location may be bucolic, but inside, you’ll find on-trend interiors and an uncompromising assurance of all the creature comforts, starting the moment you cast off coats and shoes in the welcoming hallway.

Step into the striking open-plan living space and you’ll get an immediate feel for the fun that’s ahead. The sleek kitchen has all the essentials for an effortless self-catering stay, including bar-style seating where some of your group can gather while others get busy with the meal arrangements. When dinner is served, you need to take only a few steps to your seats in the dining suite; the first of two Smart TVs is nearby, so you’ll never miss a moment of your favourite programme.

Beyond this, the space opens out into a super-chic sitting room with fashionable sofas and patio doors that flood the space with light. When you want a more cosy vibe, simply draw the curtains, light the wood burner and snuggle up in front of the Smart TV.

A downstairs bathroom brings added convenience to the ground floor layout; there’s another upstairs, this one with a free-standing bath and separate shower cubicle. The first floor is also where you’ll find three sanctuary-like bedrooms. Thoughtfully furnished to suit any holiday party, one has a king-size bed, one has a king-size zip-and-link bed which can be made up as a twin on request, and the other is a twin.

A pretty patio garden to the rear of the property extends your living space – fully enclosed and with dining furniture, it’s the perfect spot for al fresco refreshments and, in summer, a delicious BBQ.

Your holiday home is in an enviable position, affording excellent access to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy scenic walks and cycle rides from your doorstep, or learn more about what lies beneath the landscape at Ingleborough Cave (2.5 miles) and White Star Cave (6 miles) – the latter is the longest show cave in Britain.

If you have a head for heights, test your mettle by taking on Yorkshire’s Three Peaks Challenge of Ingleton, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside – it’s a 24-mile round-trip and includes 1,585 metres of ascent.

Alternatively, opt for some totally effortless sightseeing and stroll to the railway station at Clapham, just across the road from your holiday hideaway, and take a ride to Skipton (22 miles) – famous for its 900-year-old castle, romantic ruined priory and historic cobbled high street. Alternatively, visit Lancaster (20 miles). Walkability is key in this historic city, where splendid stone facades hark back to its heyday as a Georgian port and quirky independent shops rub shoulders with a smattering of well-known stores.

Closer to home, you’ll find a wealth of lovely eateries and retail experiences in Settle (7 miles), along with a thriving market every Tuesday. Just outside of town, the Settle to Carlisle railway is one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the much-photographed Ribblehead Viaduct (12 miles).

For a complete change of scenery, the sands of Morecambe Bay are 23 miles away. Morecambe enjoys one of the finest promenade views of any seaside town in England, a magnificent sweep of coastline and bay that looks towards the Lakeland mountains.
