Bingley is situated 1.5 miles from the property, a bustling market town set on the River Aire. Prospering during the Industrial Revolution, Bingley was a popular passing point on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal which still links to nearby towns and allowed goods to be easily moved around West Riding. Now, the town is brimming with shops, restaurants and markets, and is very popular with walkers and those visiting the nearby Yorkshire Dales.

One of the most famous heritage attractions in the town is the Five Rise and Three Rise Locks. Created in the 18th century on the country’s longest canal, these are a very steep flight of locks and often visited by narrow boat enthusiasts to make their way up or down. You can easily walk alongside these locks and you will find a little cafe right at the top.

For nature lovers, there are several parks in the town including the Prince of Wales Park and Myrtle Park. Head to the beautiful St Ives Estate which is home to a Grade II-listed building set among a vast woodland and open moor. You will also find a huge play area and equestrian centre, as well as some magnificent views from the rocky outcrop of Druid’s Altar. Keen walkers and cyclists can enjoy the bridleways and trails that connect Bingley to other towns and villages, as well as the Bingley Link Path that connects the town to the Dales Way.

If you can tear yourselves away from the energetic town, you will find the fabulous Yorkshire Dales National Park just 16 miles away. Explore the unique landscapes, visiting reservoirs, climbing hills, and spotting geological formations and waterfalls.
