A tastefully appointed country cottage set in a leafy corner of Raskelk in North Yorkshire. This elegant property is a wonderful retreat for small families or couples adventuring in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty alongside their tufty-pawed pal. Scoff samples, sniff candles and barter for bargains as you peruse the vibrant Friday market in the bustling heart of Easingwold (2.5 miles), before settling in for a spot of afternoon tea on the sun-dappled patio.

Steeped in history, this charming abode boasts a blend of traditional style and contemporary flair. Enjoy high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, airy neutral tones and cosy soft furnishings. Stepping into the property, shrug off outer layers and unlace shoes in the hallway. Pad into the open-plan heart of the home, flooded with natural light.

Cook up a storm in the creamy Shaker-style kitchen, styled with floating shelves and glossy wooden worktops. Whip up a pre-dinner snack board and pour a chilled glass of vino. With the scent of supper drifting in the air, settle in for a celebratory feast at the dining table. Browse the bookshelf for a relaxing holiday read then stretch out on the squishy corner sofa. In warmer months, throw open the patio doors and bask in the balmy summer breeze as you sip a brew.

Rest up in your choice of two thoughtfully designed bedrooms. Choose between a tranquil king-size with sunny soft furnishings and an airy family room with a double bottom bunk for the little ones – each with a private en-suite shower room. Outdoors, fire up the BBQ for a sizzling al fresco feast on the patio or stargaze with a warm drink in hand.

We've just returned from spending the Easter Weekend at The Coach House in Raskelf. The property was spotlessly clean with absolutely everything we, and our four legged friend, needed. The house was cosy with a constant supply of hot water. Sally, the owner who lived across the road, popped in to say 'hello' when we arrived.
