Set in the charming village of Sutton upon Derwent, this magnificent lodge is a tranquil base for a family seeking adventures in the countryside with proximity to a local pub and the city of York.

Nestled within a peaceful spot in the Yorkshire countryside, this thoughtfully designed lodge is the perfect rural getaway for a family of five. Lovers of the great outdoors will be spoilt for choice when exploring the area on foot or by bicycle. Take in the views as you stroll beside the River Derwent (0.5 miles) or venture to the Howardian Hills (21 miles), where captivating, varied landscapes and scenic villages blend to create an unforgettable day out.

This sumptuous holiday home has been completed to a very high standard, offering guests warm, cosy tones and timeless decor for that full log cabin experience.

Step up to the decked terrace of this striking lodge and make your way into the open-plan living space comprised of the lounge, kitchen and dining area. With generous open-plan living, this stylish cabin is ideal for family and friends looking to spend quality time together.

In the lounge, many cushy sofas beckon you to put your feet up after a fun-filled day while the TV offers a Firestick for flicking through the channels at your amusement. The sofa bed even provides a brilliant space for those drizzly nights in with popcorn and the latest blockbuster.

Mealtimes are a breeze in this well-appointed kitchen. Its light wood units are well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need to rustle up family dinners, including a slow cooker for popping on stews or broths before long days of rambling. The dining table sits adjacent to the kitchen, which is exceptionally convenient for those who want to carry on the conversation while the head chef whips up a storm.

There are three bedrooms in this quaint cabin. In the first bedroom, you'll find a lovely wooden king-size bed with cheerful decor and an en-suite bathroom. Next door is the good-sized twin bedroom with two single beds, perfect for little ones. And the final is a snuggly single bedroom. Freshen up in the family bathroom with a bubble bath or shower.

Outdoors, there's so much to enjoy. From the open-plan living room, open up the French doors to laze on the spacious corner sofa on the wrap-around decking. After a long day of walking around the Yorkshire countryside and coast, the steamy hot tub is an idyllic place to rest aching muscles. Beyond the decking, a large grassy area is great for children to roam or enjoy outside games.

The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York is one of the best short break destinations in England and is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. This ancient walled city has been the north's spiritual capital for 2,000 years, but that's not to say it is stuck in the past; York's affluent population and its influx of tourist pounds have helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Everywhere in York is easily reachable by foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Middle Ages' town planning means it can take quite some time to get your bearings, but finding your way around the labyrinth of warped streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and Betty's tearoom whilst you're there.

If you are looking for outside space in which to relax, you have the choice of a number of parks and gardens, including Dean's Park next to the Minster, the Yorkshire Museum Gardens next to the River Ouse and, slightly further afield, Rowntree Park with its children's playground, tennis courts and bowling green. And, what's more, it really is a year-round location. Summer days can be spent lounging in one of the gorgeous parks, and in the autumn, York comes alive with shop windows sparkling in the dusky light. Its central location also makes a great base from which to explore the rest of glorious Yorkshire, with the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Yorkshire coastline all within easy reach for beautiful walks and adventurous days out.

If walking or cycling is your thing, there are lots of beautiful paths and routes in the area. If you fancy serious hiking, the North York Moors landscape offers some of the best trails in the country. Take a trip up to the top of the high moorlands around Blakey Ridge and breathe in that clear Yorkshire air.

The beautiful market town of Helmsley (32 miles) is within easy driving distance and is well worth a visit. Head 22 miles east to find Malton, another gorgeous market town offering lots of lovely independent shops and cafes to indulge in, or the charming market town of Easingwold is a great option 23 miles from the city.
