This beautifully finished ground-floor apartment has amenities on the doorstep and is close to the beach, the River Esk and the heart of Whitby. It’s an ideal place for a couple or a family to stay while exploring this seaside town and the Yorkshire coast. Whitby is famous for its beautiful beaches, where you can sample traditional British seaside delights. Stroll the promenades with paper-wrapped fish and chips for lunch and ice cream for dessert. Paddle in the waters of the North Sea, build sandcastles and stroke the solemn donkeys offering rides on the sand. If it’s not beach weather, head for the River Esk instead, wander the marina or board a boat trip out to sea. Or stay on land and visit the gothic splendour of Whitby Abbey, thought to have inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Climb the 12 steps from the electronic gate to the bright, airy lobby and let yourself into your flat. Head straight into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This well-designed space is undoubtedly the focal point of the flat and where you will spend most of your time, cooking, eating, relaxing, perusing the bookshelves and watching TV. Leaving the lounge, you’ll find a twin bedroom, remarkably peaceful considering this flat's central location, and a double bedroom with patio doors leading to the courtyard. The bathroom has a bath and a power shower, perfect for washing off the sand after a long day at the beach.

Doors from the double bedroom lead into a private, enclosed courtyard with a table and chairs. It's a lovely spot to sit with a morning coffee and make plans for the day.

Fantastic apartment with a short walk into the centre of Whitby. Apartment was easy to find and with underground parking. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.

We have stayed in Sanderling several times and it is always immaculate in its presentation. It has everything you need to have a comfortable, relaxing holiday.

The property is close to the town, harbour and near the bus and train station. It is well set out with plenty of kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery and has a dishwasher and washing machine. The added bonus is the car parking arrangements

We have stayed in Whitby many a times and this one is certainly on our favourite list and would definitely recommend. We really enjoyed our week at Sanderling. The accommodation was spotless, it had every thing you needed plus some and the bed was really comfortable. It was nice having a little seating area outside to. Sanderling is ideally plaRead moreced being a 5 minute walk into Whitby. It is close to the train station and the supermarket is 5 minutes away. The private secure parking is a definite plus as parking in Whitby can be problematic at busy times. We found it quiet and very conveniently placed for Whitby town and surrounding areas. We've visited this property several times before and really like it - handy for walking into town, no noise from other apartments, good parking and very clean

The Property is kept very well and good location. One criticism is if your self catering there is no wear to put dried and tin food any wear. the cupboards and drawer units are full of kitchen utensils.
