Swap the everyday grind for the wide-open vistas on Robin Hood’s Bay at this gorgeous fisherman's cottage in the heart of the old village. It’s the ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends in search of some peace and tranquillity in an unbeatable coastal location. Sitting just 5 miles south of Whitby and 15 miles north of Scarborough, Robin Hood’s Bay is steeped in history. The village is a delight to explore, with its brooding cliffs and its quaint charming cottages that spill right down to the edge of the sea. Take a stroll along the beautiful beach and you may be lucky enough to find some fossils. Later in the day, lose yourself in the village’s winding cobbled streets, where there are plenty of cafes and pubs to take a break in. Alternatively, head inland to Sneaton Forest (12 miles) to gaze upon the famous Falling Foss waterfall, or if you are feeling particularly adventurous, check the tide timetable and walk 3 miles along the beach to Ravenscar. Further afield, head into Scarborough and take a boat trip to meet the seals, go surfing or treat yourself to some fish and chips.

Step inside this characterful cottage and make your way up to the first floor. There, you’ll find a welcoming lounge/dining room with a pretty feature fireplace. Make yourself at home and then head to the kitchen. You’ll find everything you need to create a culinary feast for your loved ones. Get the gang together to eat at the dining table and then while the night away by the fireplace in the lounge area. When it’s time for bed, there are two lovely bedrooms to choose from – a double on the ground floor that has an en-suite WC, and a twin on the second floor. A chic family bathroom on the second floor rounds off the cottage’s layout.

Outside, you’ll discover a lovely patio with a table and chairs – a truly beautiful place to pour yourself a drink and take in the stunning sea views.

Robin Hoods Bay is lovely and Storm Cottage is a nice place to stay. However it isnt easy to access by car and tricky with luggage etc. A great base to explore the local area though. Didnt notice that towels werent supplied which is a bit unusual. Overall a very enjoyable holiday.

Very good accommodation for a fairly last minute booking. Some of the kitchen utensils were quite tired. Very clean and comfy.

On arrival the property was perfect with outstanding views over the bay and very private as there is no through route like other properties nearby. Very comfortable inside the property and quiet at night. The bed is nice to sleep in and all was good for the week. You won't be disappointed. Book early as this property gets very booked up

Stayed here for my 60th birthday and what a great week great weather and spectcular views. Peaceful sleep but ... there may be ghosts? spirits as we heard strange knocking in the early hours of the night. It wouldn't ne the same if aplace like RHB wasnt haunted. One of the neighbours said it was haunted by old smugglers roaming, very exciting

Had a wonderful relaxing and restorative break in storm cottage. We were here during the heatwave of 2022 temperatures of 33oC but with cooling breeze - most pleasant on the deck enjoying the warmth. Storm cottage is gorgeous, cosy and comfortable it's easy to see why Chris thinks of this as a retreat it's a truly special place xxx
