Situated just 500 metres from Redcar beach and 150 metres from Coatham Green, this charming period cottage provides the perfect base for your North Yorkshire coastal adventures. Nature lovers will adore the reserves at Coatham Marsh (0.5 miles), South Gare and Coatham Dunes (2.5 miles), Saltholme (22 miles), Teesmouth and Seaton Common (both 25 miles); Saltholme has hares, terns and sublime starling murmurations in winter. Marske Sands (3 miles) is a beautiful stretch of beach, ideal for surfing, boating and windsurfing. Discover Saltburn’s art galleries, savour fresh fish at its restaurants, pubs and eateries, and marvel at its cliff lifts and Yorkshire’s last remaining pier (6 miles). Redcar Railway Station is just 0.5 miles away, giving access to the Esk Valley steam train line at Saltburn and Middlesborough (8 miles), and further afield to Hartlepool (24 miles).

Down a step from the vestibule, you’ll find a comfortable lounge/diner, with exposed beams and sweet original features. Cosy up in the sofa and chairs around the brick feature fireplace and flickering wood burner, for evenings of wine and fine local fare; watch TV and plan adventures ahead. The dining table has been crafted from a Singer sewing machine, and the lamps have been handcrafted from driftwood. Relax on the monk’s bench and write your postcards at the roll-top bureau. Through double doors, prepare sumptuous meals from fresh local produce in the bright and charming kitchen. Enjoy bright mornings at the breakfast bar and let the outside in by opening the double patio doors to the garden. Wash away sand and sleep in the fully tiled ground floor wet room, with its large, walk-in rainfall shower. After your exciting explorations, doze off to sleep in the tranquil first-floor king-size bedroom.

On balmy summer nights and bright Yorkshire mornings, savour sweet local cuisine in the walled and enclosed patio garden, with its dovecote, tree and green planting.

Fantastic cottage with plenty equipment and goods to meet all your needs. Lots of quirky interior design features that were very interesting. Welcome pack and bottle of wine was a lovely gesture on arrival. Excellent for trips to Saltburn, Kettleness for fossils , Staithes and Whitby. Hartlepool royal navy museum and marina is a short drive.
