With the popular pubs, tearooms and shops of Hawes just 150 metres down the hill, and centrally located for visiting the fells and crags of the Yorkshire Dales, this beautiful cottage combines the best of both worlds. Treat yourself at Hawes market or pop to the many other destinations nearby, including Wallace and Gromit’s favourite Wensleydale Creamery (0.5 miles) and the Dales Countryside Museum (0.2 miles). Gaze in wonder at Hardraw Force, part of a series of dramatic waterfalls and England’s highest single-drop waterfall at over 30 metres (under 2 miles away). For a dose of local history, visit 14th-century Bolton Castle near Leyburn (12 miles away), where you can take a tour and marvel at the impressive gardens.
The beautiful flagstone floor starts at the front door and continues right through the hallway and living room, with a feature fireplace and open fire, wooden beams, and lots of space to kick back and relax. The contemporary kitchen has plenty of dining space and a charming window seat enjoying views over the churchyard. Climb the 12 stone steps to the first floor to find two pretty double bedrooms, both with a wardrobe, wooden beams, and a window seat for sitting peacefully or reading a good book.
At the front of the cottage there’s a paved area for relaxing with a coffee or a glass of wine or doing a spot of stargazing after dark.
