This is a light and bright, detached, two bedroomed bungalow recently refurbished to a high standard. It has spectacular, uninterrupted views of Coverdale. It sits at the top of the pretty village of Carlton (6.5 miles from Leyburn). The property is surrounded by its own well-tended garden and off-road parking for two cars. There are numerous fantastic walks from the front door to match all abilities, and it's great cycling country too. There is a rich birdlife to be enjoyed from the house. The Village has an excellent community pub and a children’s playground. Middleham Castle, Once the childhood home of Richard III, is 5 miles away with its famous Norman Tower. Weave your way through a labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and follies created within a 4-acre garden in the heart of Tupgill Park at The Forbidden Corner, 3.5 miles away. In the heart of Wensleydale, Leyburn (6.5 miles) boasts artisan shops and local cafes, traditional pubs and a weekly market, and Tennant’s famous auction house and exhibitions, restaurant, and café.

One step up to the entrance and through the front door, you are met with a hallway with plenty of hanging space for coats. The light and airy open plan living/dining/kitchen space, featuring high ceilings and large picture windows, is a wrap around in a ‘U’ shape. The space has been thoughtfully divided by furnishings, a quiet sitting space taking advantage of the views, and a dining area with a wooden table and seating for four, with wood burning stove. Then the spacious living area with vaulted ceiling with two armchairs and double sofa and sliding patio doors on to the garden. To the rear, the kitchen with striking blue cupboard doors, is well-equipped with all modern appliances. Leading off the kitchen, you will find a utility room with a sink and hanging space and even more appliances. Off this, there is small second shower room with glass shower cubicle and WC. Back through the bungalow, there is a modern bathroom consisting of a rainfall shower head over the bath and WC. The far-reaching countryside views can be appreciated in the king-size bedroom. There is also a double bedroom at the back of the property, and both bedrooms feature built-in wardrobes and relaxing decor.

The front garden, with wonderful views, is enclosed by a low stone wall. It has a garden table and chairs and a wooden bench. Further garden chairs are stored in the shed for guest use at the back of the property, where there is also space for cycle storage. At the side of the property there is a log store and a washing line and to the rear, as well as the shed, there is a further large garden table, benches and BBQ. The owners have renovated Heathlands to a high environmental standard with an Air Source Heat Pump, solar panels, and an EV car charger.

We loved our stay at The Heathlands, from the moment we turned into the cottage & were delivered with the amazing view in front of us over the Dales...wow! It was all we could do to tear ourselves away from the big windows when we had to depart. We were 3 adults, including 2 elderly parents, so having everything on one level was appreciated. The Read morelittle bungalow was well equipped throughout & the perfect size for the 3 of us. All was clean & comfortable, particularly the king size bed. The main bathroom was very close to both bedrooms ( on the left of the property as you face it) & the 2nd smaller shower room was located on the opposite side, near the right side entrance & utility area. The open plan kitchen, dining & lounge area worked well. We had beautiful weather the first few days so could enjoy sitting on the table & chairs on the front gravelled patio & enjoyed watching the swallows nesting above as well as many other birds on the feeders (thank you for the bird food) & also the cute little rabbits running around the garden. Favourite moments - we drove to Skipton via Kettlewell on the twisty, turn-y rd which took about 1hr, but was worth it for the views. Aysgarth Falls was good & the park staff extremely helpful. The Dales museum at Hawes was very good. Recommend the Queens Head at Finghall, lovely service & good food. Being of older ages its not always possible to get out everyday & particularly if the weather is so wet, as it was a few days for us, so it was much appreciated to have the beautiful views to look out on from the comfort of the cottage. Even in the wet weather the views were interesting & we've never seen so many rainbows in a week! My father wants to know when we're returning! Hide

A charming, homely and very well equipped bungalow with possibly the best views in the Dales! Loved the attention to detail such as the paintings, hooks and waste paper bins where needed. We appreciated the cleanliness of the kitchen and its utensils. Quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch in the local Foresters Arms on a wet SRead moreunday. Absolutely beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean and magnificent views!! Everything in there that you could possibly need, and top quality furnishings the beds were beautiful!! Very good 2 bedroom bungalow the advantages far outweigh any small disadvantages. The view on a sunny day is fantastic. Access is easy even for our large car. All the shops pubs and restaurants you need can be found in Leyburn about 15 mins drive away. The location and amenities were superb. Its the best equipped kitchen we have ever had in a cottage. Furnishings and decor were above and beyond expectation. And the heat pump heating system was unexpectedly very good. It may well prove to be a very expensive holiday for us as we are now exploring installing one ourselves.

Cottage was very comfortable, very clean, all the equipment you would need and more. Such a great location and fabulous view from the window. Amazing welcome pack, including the bird seed, thank you. So lovely to see all the different birds, field mice and rabbits. We will definitely return to this lovely cottage.
