This delightful four-bedroom, semi-detached house is a stone’s throw away from immaculate 19th-century gardens and miles of sandy stretches to discover. It’s a family-friendly haven for a coastal getaway. The former fishing village of Filey (0.5 miles) is a popular seaside destination with a historic promenade, 5-mile sandy bay and beautiful Edwardian architecture. At low tide, discover the golden sand at Filey Beach, with plenty of rock pools to explore. Further along the coast, tour the winding 119 steps of Flamborough Head Lighthouse (14.5 miles), offering breathtaking views over Bridlington Bay and the heritage coast at the top of the ascent. Laid over a 5-acre park surrounded by the stunning countryside, visit the award-winning Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park (2 miles) hosting a mixture of animals, nature, exotic birds and gardens.

Through the front door, you are immediately welcomed into the open-plan living space, flooded with natural light from the large bay window. The traditional lounge occupies the front of the space, with a comfy sofa underneath the window, and a cosy wood burner. Gorgeous glass French doors open onto a larger living space, providing a perfect partition for ultimate versatility. A further set of French doors lead to the garden behind another large sofa in this area, as well as a feature fireplace and more chairs and soft furnishings. Through to the kitchen/diner, you’ll find a long, wooden, farmhouse-style table and chairs nestled next to the U-shaped kitchen which is kitted out with all the necessary modern appliances. Back through the property, a modern ground-floor bathroom benefits from a large walk-in shower and WC. Beyond this, you’ll find a utility room with even more appliances. Upstairs, one step up from the half-pace landing, is a super-king-size bedroom with plenty of storage space with built-in wardrobes, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Opposite, you’ll find two twin rooms, each with its own built-in wardrobes, and a cosy single room with hanging space. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower attachment, and a separate WC on this level.

A set of French doors in the dining room lead outside onto a large patio, enclosed by a stone wall topped with landscaped green hedging, providing the perfect space to admire the pretty views over to the adjoining Glen Gardens. There is also direct private access to Glen Gardens through the garden, perfect for a picnic or evening stroll.

Superb setting for us as a family, we climbed over the back wall into Glen Gardens to canoe, play football, putting and crazy golf, and to walk the couple of minutes round to the free public tennis court. The beach too only a few minutes walk. Very very happy! Enclosed garden for the dog, (but the wall could be jumped if your dog likes to escapeRead more!) Immediate access to the park, and blankets provided to protect the settees ideal for the dog too. Hide

We have just returned from a lovely family holiday staying at Puffins, booked through Ingrid Flutes Holiday Cottages. Firstly, thank you to Laura the property manager for great communication and excellent customer service, also to Fiona one of the owners for taking the time to call us to ask if everything was ok. Our stay at Puffins was vastlyRead more different to one of the previous guests party. The owners have obviously worked hard to upgrade the home. New tiles in the main bathroom, lots of redecorated rooms and repainted exterior. The property has also been 'deep cleaned' recently and we found the oven very clean. There was plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils and we were happy to cook most evenings rather than eat out. Puffins is in a fantastic location a very short walk to the beach either through the adjoining park and Glen or down lots of steps and the town is 10 minutes walk. Our Granddaughters loved having access from the garden into the park and playground which is very well maintained. We also walked to the rail station and took a train ride to Scarborough one day. Perfect holiday home for a family group. Hide

Puffins is nicely located and well equipped. The rooms are principally invitingly decorated and furnished and the houses closeness to Glen Gardens and the Beach is a huge plus. The two things we were unhappy about were the lack of cleanliness in the house when we arrived (dog hair on furniture, debris on the floor, mildew in bathrooms) and the factRead more that the major bathroom with the adjacent bedroom were smelly and could not be made more agreeable despite airing, heating and lavishly using Febreze on the floor and other areas. The house also smelled unventilated and unpleasant when we arrived. This would need to be changed asap from our perspective in order to improve the value of a stay at Puffins. We also did not get any refund or reduction of our cleaning fee despite the unsatisfying status of the house in regard of its cleanliness. Hide

location was perfect. just felt the place was a bit tired, stains on carpets, sofas, oven was dirty, stains on walls and curtains, we didnt use any baking trays as they were looking a bit grim, toilet brush was terrible in the on suite bathroom, my mum said the one in the loo and downstairs bathroom were the same, we found broken glass under the soRead morefa when we arrived as the dogs ball rolled under, my husband swept up and there was hair as well, feel a bit disapointed as the pictures looked lovely. also the patio furniture should have been set out, we had to clean that as well. all of these things should be addressed by the cleaning team, we leave at 10am and arrive at 4pm no way was 6 hours used to clean the property. when i removed the quilt cover on the main bed it had stains on the quilt. we would book again if all these things were put right because the location was perfect it just needs tweeking, i moved a few orniments on the shelves in the front room as looking at empty shelves just looked a bit sad, the owners had some lovely pictures on the walls but again the one above the bed in the onsuite bedroom needed cleaning, i moved a chair to plug my hairdryer in and the cleaner had not duted behind there, even just things like taking a sweeping brush to the patio doors would have been nice. i did messege the owner about the broken glass so she could inform her cleaner Hide

Puffins was a delightful house set in an excellent location. The property was extremely well equipped and our family spent a lovely weekend there. Our eight year old granddaughter loved that it backed on to the excellent park accessed over the garden wall! The information booklet was most helpful.

The property was ideal for a holiday with our extended family. Plenty of room both inside and outside with easy access to the park for the younger members , immediately behind the house. Lovely quiet area and extremely close to the beach... It was very handy having three bathrooms to share between six of us !
