This delightful four-bedroom, semi-detached house is a stone’s throw away from immaculate 19th-century gardens and miles of sandy stretches to discover. It’s a family-friendly haven for a coastal getaway. The former fishing village of Filey (0.5 miles) is a popular seaside destination with a historic promenade, 5-mile sandy bay and beautiful Edwardian architecture. At low tide, discover the golden sand at Filey Beach, with plenty of rock pools to explore. Further along the coast, tour the winding 119 steps of Flamborough Head Lighthouse (14.5 miles), offering breathtaking views over Bridlington Bay and the heritage coast at the top of the ascent. Laid over a 5-acre park surrounded by the stunning countryside, visit the award-winning Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park (2 miles) hosting a mixture of animals, nature, exotic birds and gardens.

Through the front door, you are immediately welcomed into the open-plan living space, flooded with natural light from the large bay window. The traditional lounge occupies the front of the space, with a comfy sofa underneath the window, and a cosy wood burner. Gorgeous glass French doors open onto a larger living space, providing a perfect partition for ultimate versatility. A further set of French doors lead to the garden behind another large sofa in this area, as well as a feature fireplace and more chairs and soft furnishings. Back through the property, a modern ground-floor bathroom benefits from a large walk-in shower and WC. Beyond this, you’ll find a utility room with even more appliances. Upstairs, one step up from the half-pace landing, is a super-king-size bedroom with plenty of storage space with built-in wardrobes, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Opposite, you’ll find one twin room and one king-size, each with its own built-in wardrobes, and a cosy single room with hanging space. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower attachment, and a separate WC on this level.

A set of French doors in the dining room lead outside onto a large patio, enclosed by a stone wall topped with landscaped green hedging, providing the perfect space to admire the pretty views over to the adjoining Glen Gardens. The location is great if you have children as the park is one step over the garden wall where there's a playground, crazy golf, boating lake and cafe, which is a bit pricey. It's also situated at the end of a cul de sac. There are no roads to cross to get to the beach but there are lots of steps down to it. The shops and entertainment area is aboRead moreut a 10 minute walk. The house itself is very well equipped, the rooms are bright, beds really comfortable and the two back rooms have lovely views over the park. The only quibbles we had were the water pressure in showers quite low but did the job and we couldn't get the gas fire to work, the instructions and handset not straightforward. Three generations had a lovely week in Puffins. Hide

A great holiday property in a beautiful location. Light and airy south facing rooms overlooking the park making it wonderful to wake up to the sound of gulls and woodpeckers alike. A comfortable and well equipped house; we especially liked the large mugs. The patio area was perfect for sitting out with easy stone steps access immediately intoRead more the park and further afield to the beach. It is an enclosed garden unless your canine friend is larger than a labrador. Off street parking for one car meant that we weren't forking out for daily carparking as the town and beach are close by. 'Puffins' provided us with a first class break. Hide

This is a lovely house in a very good position in the centre of Filey, overlooking the well equipped park. The kitchen has everything a family would need. The owners were helpful and made us feel welcome. This is our second stay and we will probably come again as we know it will be clean and welcoming, meeting all our needs as a family.

Superb setting for us as a family, we climbed over the back wall into Glen Gardens to canoe, play football, putting and crazy golf, and to walk the couple of minutes round to the free public tennis court. The beach too only a few minutes walk. Very very happy! Enclosed garden for the dog, (but the wall could be jumped if your dog likes to escapeRead more!) Immediate access to the park, and blankets provided to protect the settees ideal for the dog too. Hide
