Known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Skipton is always a stand-out choice for those visitors hoping to access North Yorkshire’s walking routes whilst still enjoying attractions, shops and eateries. Head to Malham (11 miles) to explore its towering Cove, fascinating Gordale Scar and glistening Janet’s Foss or venture in the opposite direction towards Bolton Abbey (8 miles) to explore the abbey itself and a walk along The Strid (9 miles). Close to home you’ll find plenty to see and do - visit Skipton Castle, take a Canal Boat Tour from the basin or wander the pretty woods (all 0.5 miles).

It was a gorgeous cottage, perfectly located for our needs. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was warm and comfortable. Beds were great and the bathroom facilites were perfect. It had a beautiful back yard to enjoy a coffee and a chat in the sunshine.

Delightful cottage for our mid week stay. Really well equipped, spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Lots of thoughtful homely touches and plenty of ideas for things to do and places to visit and eat at in welcome info. pack. We had a lovely break at Lorna Loom-its well located in the town and convenient for walks and sight seeing in the Yorkshire Dales. Its also well equipped and comfortable and even has a collection of games, jigsaws and dvds. Parking can be a bit tight but I wouldnt hesitate to recommend a stay here.

The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable. The complimentary items were much appreciated. So much so that we bought a new similar microwave for our home, and not forgetting the 'sheepy' noughts and crosses game which we had to buy as well.

Really pleased we chose this cottage, excellent location, handy for strolling to town but very quiet. Top quality equipment, furniture, everything thought through for a happy stay. And we loved the decor!

Lorna Loom is a lovely cottage in a great location so perfect for exploring Skipton. The only negative comment would be, there is no dishwasher which we had wrongly assumed there would be. There is room! :-) Please be aware it is up a steep hill so could be a challenge for some.

The cottage was lovely however sadly we had to return home after 4 days on 21/8/24 as my husband was diagnosed with a serious illness following diagnosis at the local Hospital.
