Homely and welcoming, this Gunnerside bungalow offers a fantastic base for anyone hoping to experience an authentic Yorkshire retreat. With a quality local pub and bubbling beck running through, Gunnerside really is a chocolate box village. Situated in the heart of Swaledale, deep in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, you won't struggle to find fantastic walking routes and bike rides close by. Discover the Swale Trail on bike, following the route 12 miles between Keld (6.5 miles) and Reeth (6 miles). Explore waterfront walks along the picturesque River Swale (0.5 miles) or admire the rolling hills that surround you from the top of Buttertubs Pass (6 miles). Take a drive to Richmond (17 miles) to tour the castle, abbey and museum.

A small flight of external stairs leads up to this single-storey accommodation. Leave coats and shoes in the hallway and step inside to find plenty of space to unwind. The lounge/diner is a sun-filled room with comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and a dining spot for four. This was by far the nicest cottage we've stayed in both in gunnerside and in the dales itself. It was immaculately clean, so cosy and warm and very well equipped. All the utensils, bedding, electrical equipment etc were of excellent quality and very well thought through. We will definitely be back to watercrag.

Lovely comfortable property, well equipped, in a great location. Very enjoyable week with great walks and bike rides from the door. Garage storage for bikes very useful. Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Watercrag is an excellent well equipped property, with a high standard of comfort. The location, in the centre of Swaledale, gives easy access to many points of interest.

This is a fabulous bolt hole, well equipped with with good quality essentials and for our visit in March was warm and cosy. Good bed, bed linen and towels. If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful break, with lovely walks and a good local pub this is ideal. Lovely house definitely feels like a home from home. This was our 2nd visit.

Had a wonderful week at Gunnerside! Watercrag Cottage was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great - shower Brilliant (often had shoddy showers before - a nice change to have one that works well !) Nice little terraced garden and small summerhouse. Kitchen was a good size, Freezer big enough for a weeks worth of pre prepaRead morered frozen dinners. Pleasant location and the pub 1 minute walk away - pre book for a meal. Any recyclable items you will need to take to the recycle bin just over the bridge in the village. Overall probably the best property we have ever stayed at. Hide
