Spend quality time together at this characterful cottage, perfect for families and friends staying in the bustling town of Whitby. Situated along the historic and cobbled Church Street, this home is tucked away in a lovely spot. Enjoy a day on the superb sandy beach and take an evening stroll along Whitby harbour, watching the boats come and go. For those who enjoy history, explore the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the ruins of Whitby Abbey. Situated on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park, where you will be spoilt for choice with walks and cycling routes for all abilities. Enter through the front door on street level and find yourself in the open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen. This comfortable and cosy cottage is bright and airy with traditional features such as exposed beams. The lounge area has a comfortable sofa and armchairs situated in front of a flame-effect electric fire. Get cosy in the evenings and watch your favourite shows on the TV. Up to the first floor is the twin bedroom and family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. The second set of stairs lead up to the spacious double bedroom with plenty of storage, and the single bedroom completes the interior of the accommodation. Please note that both sets of stairs are fairly steep.

The property was lovely, however there could be just a couple of things that would make it better....there was tea and coffee but no milk...just a pint popped into the fridge would make all the difference after a long car journey....also we discovered that the fridge door shelf was removed because of being broken before our arrival...making storagRead moree in the fridge a little difficult....the only other suggestion would be at the end of the season or periodically check over the equipment etc and replace tired with new. Other than that every thing was good. Hide

Nice location but the cottage is very tired. The living room chair is stained and the locks to the doors to both entrances are pretty ropey. The photographs make the property feel much more fresh, new and loved than it actually is.

The property was quirky and well equipped. It was in a central location in Whitby and close to the shops and harbour. Access to the property was challenging in terms of the 2 flights of stone steps leading up to the front door. Although there was free parking available on street, this was some distance from the property.. These details are importaRead morent and should be made clearer on the website. Hide

Lovely location and not much of a problem unloading car and carrying to the location as the streets were fairly empty for Christmas. The living space downstairs was so tiny and not very comfortable for being indoors in winter but the kitchen was well stocked and oven was easy to use. It wasnt very warm downstairs but upstairs was very warm. Hot waRead moreter was patchy and never very hot. There was some nice decorations for Christmas. The steep stairs had been mentioned but werent much of a problem. My main issue was the fridge, I asked for measurement as it had been mentioned how small it was and I was told 84cms. However this was the height of the whole fridge freezer unit and the fridge was only half that, so we could not refrigerate all we had bought for Christmas. Hide
