Set in the pretty rural village of Carperby, this delightful cottage makes a great getaway for families and friends seeking a tranquil base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Offering fresh and cosy accommodation for up to five guests, this spacious retreat is just a couple of miles from the picturesque Wensleydale village of Aysgarth, home of the triple-stepped Aysgarth Falls. There are plenty of great pubs and restaurants dotted throughout the area, offering a relaxing break for walkers and cyclists following numerous trails through this beautiful region. There are some great places to eat and drink in the friendly market town of Leyburn, 8 miles east. Other local attractions include Middleham Castle and The Forbidden Corner, both within 10 miles.

A step up leads into the cottage and along the hallway where there’s ample space to leave coats and boots. The main lounge has a lovely wood burner set in a feature stone fireplace, along with a Smart TV and plenty of seating, making an ideal space to sit back and unwind at the end of a fabulous day. The spacious kitchen/diner is perfect for preparing and sharing all your favourite family dishes, with a welcoming central dining table and a wealth of useful equipment so you can rustle up a hearty breakfast or celebratory meal. Heading upstairs, the first floor offers a refreshing family bathroom and three delightful bedrooms, decorated in cool, restful shades. The light and relaxing king-size room and the charming twin room each have a Smart TV, and there’s also a cosy single room with plenty of storage space.

A step up from the diner leads you through a stable door and out into the charming garden, fully enclosed by a stone wall and featuring two separate seating areas. Mainly laid to gravel, the garden has plenty of pretty shrubs and flowers, with a pergola and outdoor furniture offering an ideal spot for dining alfresco.

The property was lovely and had everything you needed .The bed was really comfortable and we slept well.The garden was fully enclosed which was very good for our two french bulls. The village pub was in walking distance and the food and drink was exceptional. We would definitely return.

The property only had one toilet which proved difficult to manage with a whole family. I recommend you install a downstairs toilet (even a small one) which would help a lot. Also, parking was not good. For future guests, please provide instructions of how to set the heating. The website info did not mention that the property had a washer/dryer. ThiRead mores was great but it would have helped prior to hiring as we were on a long trip and did most of our washing (inconveniently and at great expense) prior to taking the cottage. If we had of known about the washer/dryer, it would have helped us a lot. Other than that, the cottage was great. Thank you! Hide
