This bright and homely bungalow ideal for friends or small families is wonderfully located on the Yorkshire coast. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the incredible views along the Cleveland Way which can be found less than 1 mile away. Hire surfboards or paddle boards down at Cayton Bay Beach, 1 mile away, for an active day at the beach, or pop a towel down on the golden sand to relax in the sun. Scarborough lies just 3 miles away, with its famous beach and promenade. Take a stroll through the remarkable Peasholm Park or marvel at the ancient ruins of Scarborough Castle. Alternatively, you can take a 7-mile trip to Filey, with another beach and plenty of great walking spots, such as the Filey Dams Nature Reserve or visit the seals basking at Filey Brigg.

Enter into the front door and settle down on the leather sofas in the comfortable lounge in front of the electric fire. Put on your favourite show on the TV, taking in the wonderful seaside backdrop through the patio door. Prepare delicious meals in the quaint kitchen looking out to sea, with a dining table to enjoy your meal together. The first double bedroom features overhead storage, while the second double bedroom is fitted with warm wooden furniture. The bathroom has a shower over the bath.

Outside is a sunny patio and generous lawn that looks out across the sea and the headland. Enjoy a spot of al fresco dining and admire the views as the sun sets.

Some kitchen utensils, ie cheese grater was dirty and rusty. Cupboards in kitchen were very high for me (4ft10) with door handles in middle of door rather than the bottom, so would have struggled if in my own. Other than that, very pleasant and would book again.

The views are great. The cleanliness of the proprty is outstanding. However, it should be made very clear that one should not trust ones own sat/nav and to follow the directions given. My sat/nav took me to the right road but I was faced with a locked wooden gate. Also, better instructions on the use of the oven/grill. Simple enough one woulRead mored think but it took a while to get the grill to work and even now I'm not sure if it was the oven or the grill that cooked my bacon ! ...and being a little picky, the metal gate access on to the Cleveland Way wasn't that easy to unlock. In fact I gave up and walked all of the way around. All in all, a very nice place for a break. Hide

The storage heater to the lounge area was broken a small electric oil heater had been supplied but had we not taken our own portable heater we would not have been warm enough by any means and I firmly believe we should have been informed about this lack of heating Additionally the storage heater to one of the bedrooms had clearly been switched off Read moreand was not working at all at the time of our arrival leaving us with a freezing cold bedroom for one night - again we should have been notified about this. There was no form of heating whatsoever to the bathroom yet this was not mentioned in your property details/description- it should be What I would also like to bring to your attention is a chipped drinking mug to the kitchen which ought not to be in place for purposes of hygiene and safety plus a broken ornament to the lounge which again is dangerous if you were to pick this up Hide

Oystercatcher is in a superb location on a private estate and with far reaching coastal views from inside - and even better from outside just nearby. We would have scored it higher but for: the need to update the property information folder - it has not been kept up to date after several new fittings and appliances have been installed; the lack of Read morewi-fi - we might not have stayed there if we had realised; lack of some kitchen equipment ranging from the (advertised) coffee machine to a vegetable peeler; the layout of the kitchen and bathroom and the position of some light switches were quite unergonomic; the fridge was inconveniently placed; the kitchen needed updating; there were nowhere near enough power sockets; the padlock on the gate to the footpath could not be opened with the key provided. Having said all that, we did enjoy our holiday and would be happy to stay there again. The booking process through to the date of the holiday was first rate. Hide

Heating was very old (storage heaters) and difficult to control, quite cold in one bedroom. Could have done with coat hooks somewhere. Spotlessly clean and lovely outlook outlook. Everything you could need was provided except towels.

The sea views from the property are fantastic and the bungalow is very comfortable. Unfortunately the main storage heater in the lounge wasnt working and we could only use the electric blower, so it was quite cold in the mornings.

Loved everything about it,location ideal,peaceful and relaxing.The views I knew about,as this was the site of Nalgo Holiday Camp we stayed at many years ago.Only complaint if any,could do with some hooks/hangers on doors and maybe a fold up or even retractable clothes line outside to dry wet towels

we stayed at knife point at cayton bay the bunalow has the most wonderful veiw i wish we could have taken it home with us, will be back next year for the fifth time, cannot waite.

I was looking for sea views & this property provided that & also a great view of Cayton Bay & access to lovely coast walk into Scarborough. If you are walkers this is part of the Cleveland Way & you can walk to Filey too. This property was a great base for exploring the areas of Flamborough, Filey, Whitby, Scarborough we also went to York . Coming Read moreback to Oystercatcher after our trips out was a great relax. Home from home, everything we could ever need was in the bungalow and the view was just stunning, up early to watch the sun rise over the sea, a great base for surrounding area.very clean, we will be back.
