A delightful studio apartment finished to a high standard, this is the perfect countryside bolt-hole for couples or solo travellers. The cottage is in the village of Sleights within the North York Moors National Park. Some of the country's best walking and cycling trails are on your doorstep, and the charming moors village of Grosmont is 2.5 miles away, home to the steam engines of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Sleights offers a traditional butcher, bakery, deli, seafood restaurant and a couple of country pubs. The popular coastal town of Whitby is 4 miles away, where you can experience classic seaside fun such as sandcastle building and crabbing. Whitby holds a wealth of attractions, including the world-famous gothic abbey – inspiration for the Dracula novel –, the historic harbour, and the delightful, cobbled old-town filled with local shops and a fantastic range of seafood restaurants and tea rooms.

With Farrow and Ball paints and high-end finishes, this property is a welcoming home-away-from-home where you will be met with a welcome hamper of local treats on arrival. The accommodation includes a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of kitchen units and granite worktops. The lounge area is separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar and has a large sofa and armchair with views of the garden and rolling moors beyond. The dining table is tucked away in a cosy corner beside the wood burner. Entertainment is covered with a large Smart TV. The bedroom area has a wrought iron, pocket sprung king-size bed with luxurious bed linens and throws. The bathroom includes a large bath and a separate shower enclosure with a rainfall shower.

Outside, the enclosed garden, with dining furniture and a BBQ, has beautiful views over the valley and plenty of space for four-legged friends to stretch their legs.

Undoubtedly a beautiful location, the view from the sofa was outstanding . Beautiful and fully equipped cottage . Any critism would be that it was over stocked, for instance the bread maker took a large amount of kitchen space ! I would agree though that the smell of fresh bread on arrival is a plus . Lots of extras included . A tiny cottage, for Read more2 adults and we only had one small dog although 2 were allowed . Everything was of superb quality , bedding towels etc . Prior to arrival I felt slightly bombarded with messages about not arriving before 5pm . And almost as though we were being watched . We parked up at 4.45 and took the dog for a walk before going into Ewelands . It was quite an uncomfortable start . We also left the day before our due date because of the 9.30 leaving time, again feeling the pressure . Having said that we had a lovely holiday with every comfort provided . Hide
