This contemporary penthouse near West Cliff in Whitby offers a romantic bolthole for couples with stunning views over the sea and town – and magical sunrises and sunsets. Whitby makes a great base for exploring the Yorkshire coast and North York Moors. There’s plenty to do right on your doorstep, from climbing the 199 steps to St Mary’s Church and the ruins of Whitby Abbey, to relaxing on the beach, and sampling the town’s restaurants, cafes, fish and chip shops, and quirky tearooms. The North York Moors is within easy reach with numerous hiking and cycling trails through its spectacular scenery – a popular way to visit is via the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, a heritage steam line that runs from Whitby to the market town of Pickering (20 miles).

This is a modern penthouse apartment, served by a lift, which boasts huge windows to make the most of those glorious views, and excellent attention to detail throughout. Located on the fourth floor, you enter via the hall, which has a large storage cupboard and coat hooks. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is light and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows and views across to the abbey and out to sea. There are two seating areas: a sofa facing the TV and entertainment corner, and two lounge chairs and a footstool next to one of the large windows. There is a door leading to the balcony. The circular dining table and chairs sit in another window, while the fully fitted kitchen has all you may need for preparing meals at home. Down the hall, there’s a bedroom with a king-size bed and views along the coast to Sandsend, and a family bathroom.

Outside, the balcony has a bistro table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a meal or drinks alfresco while delighting in the magnificent views.

The views out to sea, across to the Abbey and over looking Whitby town was stunning. Location wise was nice to be slightly away from the centre but close enough to walk to restaurants and bars of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very comfortable, modern, light & airy apartment. Apex window & general all around views were excellent. We spent time on a number of occasions, just sitting & enjoying the views! Comfortable chairs in the window space were a lovely touch. Very impressed with the whole apartment & booking process. We are already considering our return!

This is the perfect place to stay in Whitby. The views are great, the interior is very stylish and tasteful. We had everything we could possibly need and more. Extras such as the welcome bag, bottle of bubbles and dressing gowns were the icing on the cake. Comfortable walking distance to the centre of Whitby. This apartment is very comfortable, spacious,very well equipped cant fault it at all were in our sixties and managed to walk in to town and back each day, cant wait to visit again.

Outstanding accommodation, immaculate throughout. Great views of the sea, Abbey and surrounding area. Perfect location on west cliff, stroll along the promenade to the restaurants, shops and harbour. Loved it.

Everything about this short break was excellent (apart from the weather !) The admin and communication was first class throughout, form initial booking to picking up keys and for leaving; the accommodation was amazing - with a real WOW factor - it fitted the description of a luxury apartment absolutely and we loved it.

Its a superb apartment, which exceeded our expectations. Its very well equipped and car parking is convenient. It is about a 10 minute walk into the town centre, which could be a problem for some people. We absolutely loved it !

Booking process very easy. The property is only 10 minutes walk from Whitby town centre but the area it was in was nice and quiet. Apartment is very well equipped and very comfortable with lots of little extras to make it more like a home than a holiday let.

Appartment was excellent !! Spacious, very comfortable and spotless !! The large bi-folding windows at the front and balcony and large windows at the side dont just allow a lot of light into the property but also give great views on both sides.
