Explore the market town on your doorstep or set out to walk the surrounding countryside. This stylish house has plenty of places to gather including two living rooms and a pretty garden and is just metres from the market square in Masham in the breathtakingly beautiful region of Lower Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales. This market town is famous for its family-run breweries, steam engines and annual sheep fair. Explore the countryside with one of the many great walks in the area, including the lovely Druid’s Temple walk which starts at Swinton Bivouac. This short, easy walk has stunning views, a 200-year-old stone temple and a lovely cafe at the end. The cathedral city of Ripon is 10 miles and Harrogate is 20 miles.

Enter the house through the front door and you will find an entrance hall with hooks for hanging up coats and a beautiful antique telephone. From here, a door leads into the lounge, which has a large bay window onto the street which lets in plenty of light with an open decorative fire and TV. Next door is another light-filled family room facing over the rear of the property, furnished with sofas, a TV and a wall-mounted electric fire. A single bedroom on this level also has a large window overlooking the garden. Take the stairs from the hallway to the lower ground floor, where you’ll find the open-plan kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has a rear door opening out onto the patio and garden, and a cloakroom in the corner is a handy place to dry off your clothes and boots after a day’s walking or sightseeing. Two bedrooms are on the first floor – a beautifully furnished double with an en-suite shower and countryside views and another double with views onto the street. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and the second floor houses a light and airy twin bedroom with sloped ceilings and countryside views.

The fully enclosed furnished patio and garden is a just the place for a morning coffee or to dine alfresco on a summer’s evening.

The house is absolutely lovely, one of the best we have stayed in, and is in the heart of Masham. The garden is beautiful and fully enclosed. We very much enjoyed our stay here and had everything we needed for a great holiday.

We had a wonderful break with three generations of family and our dog visiting the ancestorial home of Masham, even though one grandparent had recently broken his hip after the holiday had been booked the owners where very accommodating, even the stairs on the first two levels where manageable under the circumstances, the house had everything needeRead mored to enjoy a comfortable stay and there are still the wonderful places to eat like the Kings arms and a local caf that provided our lunch time menu very efficiently, the garden is fully enclosed with a back gate / path to get you to the front of the house, this was ideal for muddy paws and wellies to clean off before accessing the kitchen area. We also received a lovely welcome pack and a postcard ( which I forgot to take home with me!! )welcoming us to the property. I would certainly recommend this property and will be back in the future. We had a lovely stay in November. The house is in the centre of Masham near some nice pubs and shops. It is well equipped with plenty of space. We enjoyed doing one of the walks recommended in the folder. Helen, the owner, phoned a few days before with information regarding the key, where to park and directions. We will definitely return.
