Gather the family or some friends and base yourself at this lovely cottage. No matter what their interests, everyone will be happy here. Explore the shops and breweries in the town, go for long walks in the surrounding dales before returning to utter peace and all the home comforts you could think of. This traditional stone cottage is just metres from the market square in a beautiful region of Lower Wensleydale. Mix with the locals when buying produce at the market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and explore the many craft shops, galleries, tea rooms and restaurants here. There are also several pubs serving good food and superb real ales can be sampled at each of the two breweries in the village. Great walks in the area include the Druid’s Temple walk with stunning views, a 200-year-old stone temple and a lovely cafe at the end.
This delightful upside-down cottage has two of its bedrooms located on the ground floor and the living area upstairs. The front door leads to a spacious open vestibule with a seating area for taking off your boots after a day walking in the Dales. The bedrooms on this level are both comfortable twins, and one has an en-suite shower room. Dog-leg stairs take you to the first floor where you’ll find the lovely open-plan lounge/diner with its open coal fire and warm furnishings which make this a really cosy space to while away the evening. The kitchen is really well equipped and has a great farmhouse-style table to gather everyone together for a meal. A double bedroom is on this level, along with a lovely bathroom with a corner bath and overhead shower.
Whilst there is no dedicated outside space, there are walking trails and cycle routes from the doorstep.
