Escape to the Yorkshire coastline in this stylish three-bedroomed terraced cottage in the village of Ruswarp. A friendly village with a pub, a cafe, a miniature railway, a children’s soft play centre and a farm park, from here you can also go rowing on the River Esk or take long rural walks including the Monks Trod route which leads to the thriving resort of Whitby (2 miles). Whitby is known for its lovely sandy beach, twisting medieval streets and yards, a bustling harbour, the Whalebone Arch and the ruins of the old Gothic abbey overlooking the town. Also, just along the coast is the tranquil village of Robin Hood’s Bay (7.5 miles). Take a trip down memory lane on board the world's most popular steam heritage railway and experience 24 miles of dramatic countryside as you journey from Whitby to Pickering behind steam locomotives and heritage diesel engines.

Head inside into a neat entrance hall, a convenient place to hang your coat and remove your walking shoes. Continue to the open-plan living space which is modern with stylish touches. Relax in the evening in the living room and sink into the comfortable sofas and tune into the Smart TV. A well-equipped kitchen offers the opportunity to prepare your own delicious meals with a dining area adjacent where you can socialise with your family and friends and plan the days ahead. There is a cloakroom located on the ground floor. Venture up the staircase once the evening has drawn to a close, where three wonderfully appointed bedrooms await you. Offering a flexible sleeping arrangement, on the first floor is a king-size room with plenty of storage space, and a twin room. Open the door on the landing which takes you to another spacious king-size room. The main bathroom is on the first floor where you can enjoy a refreshing shower or relax in a nice hot bath after a long day walking.

Enjoy your morning coffee sitting outside on the patio or catch the final glimpses of sunshine with a glass of something refreshing in hand at the end of the day.

Plenty of information given before our arrival. We were returning to our "home" town for a family birthday so didn't need the directions but this would be useful for anyone who doesn't know the area. Lovely cottage. Thoughtfully decorated, very clean and plenty of room for 5 adults and a dog. Lots of extra touches that I wasn't expecting, like a piRead morent of milk in the fridge. We really enjoyed our stay. Hide

The property was to a very high standard, very clean, comfortable beds and sitting room and very well stocked kitchen. However, the dishwasher could perhaps benefit from a clean run and the tin opener was not very effective. But these things did not take away from the high quality of a superb holiday cottage.

Very clean and kitchen has all we required to self cater in style. Welcome pack and instruction on how to use the equipment were most helpful and coffee machine was a dream. Outside area was most comfortable and location was very quiet at night to allow for a easy and restful sleep. 10/10

Thought that website description should have mentioned proximity to main road with some traffic noise. Otherwise, a great base from which to explore the area.

The well-equipped property is located in a quiet and peaceful village, just a 30 minute walk to Whitby. Close to all amenities, including local pub and a very good butcher's shop. We stayed for 2 nights from the 19th May, on our first day we had a lovely walk into Whitby for food and drink then walked back for a nightcap in the local pub. On our seRead morecond day we walked to Robin Hood's Bay on the cinder track, which was a lovely 2hr walk, got the bus back (which runs every 30 mins). Overall, this 3-bedroomed house in Ruswarp is a fantastic place to stay, the perfect place to relax and unwind. 10/10 for location, house and outdoor space. Hide

We had a lovely stay in this well-equipped cottage. The location is perfect for visits into Whitby and there are a number of great walks on your doorstep. A couple of minutes walk and you are by the river, which is well worth a visit. The local butchers are also worth a visit as it is much more than a butcher's shop! We will be back! 5 stars.

We were lucky enough to stay in the cottage at Easter. It has been completely renovated, finished to a very high standard and beautifully furnished throughout. The 3 bedrooms were all a really good size, particularly the master bedroom in the attic which was very spacious. It is all very well equipped with everything you could think of including a Read morepicnic basket and boules for the beach! The outside patio area is lovely although unfortunately we never got the weather to enjoy it. We'll definitely be back. Many thanks. Hide
