This family-friendly accommodation is close to the picturesque village of Giggleswick, where you can visit the beautiful 12th-century church. The town of Settle is in the shadow of Castleberg Crag, and this cottage boasts an enviable location with access to walking paths, cycle tracks, and bridle paths for all abilities. Settle hosts a weekly indoor and outdoor market, offering a variety of local produce and artisan goods. Book a visit to Settle Falconry to watch majestic birds of prey swooping over the Dales, or see a show at Victoria Hall, the town’s Grade II-listed working Victorian Music Hall.

This is a quirky upside-down property, with bedrooms on the ground floor and living space on the first floor. Step up to the front door to enter the spacious hallway, with two benches, coat hooks, and ample storage under the stairs. A full-length window on the landing allows plenty of light into the property, and provides fantastic views of the street and old school outside. There is a charming double bedroom with wooden bed, which has lovely views of the garden at the rear of the property. The twin bedroom has wrought iron-framed beds, and also offers great views of the garden. The bathroom has been furnished with a classic white suite, including WC, heated towel rail, and shower over the bath. Head upstairs to the cottage-style kitchen, with traditional wood cupboards and views of the street below. The lounge/diner has a large aspect window and door, which floods the room with light and opens out onto a raised decked area with table and chairs. If you prefer cosy nights in, snuggle up below the wooden beams to watch TV from one of the comfortable sofas, or enjoy a sociable meal discussing the day’s adventures around the dining table.

Victoria Cottage was warm, comfortable and immaculately clean. We had a great week's walking, often from the cottage door, and we fell in love with the fine, historic town of Settle. Shops and cafes were just a short stroll down the hill. It was a perfect holiday, especially since the weather gods were kind. Well relaxed!
