The cottage was clean, tidy and well presented. It had everything we needed for a short break, even a dog towel was provided. The location was ideal for exploring the local area and owners were great with advice. We would definitely return.

A lovely cottage in a really good location. Nearby Helmsley is a great little market town with lots of independent shops and cafes, and The Hayloft made a fabulous base from which to visit the incredible ruined medieval Abbeys in the area - Whitby, Rievaulx, Fountains and Byland. Pickering and Helmsley castles were a real treat too, and the medievaRead morel wall paintings in St Peter and St Paul's Church in Pickering were breathtaking. The area is properly dog friendly too - Daisy made lots of friends, and we really appreciated being able to take her into shops and cafes (special mention to the Little Ripon Bookshop who fetched her fresh water while we browsed!). The Hayloft's owners Tony and Elaine were super-friendly and incredibly helpful, even managing to arrange to fix a broken shower the same day whilst they themselves were away on holiday. A smashing week in a very special place - thank you. Hide
