Tucked away in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this three-storey cottage provides the perfect location for couples and families who want to enjoy memorable adventures in the great outdoors. Hawes has been a market town since 1307 and still holds a traditional farmers’ market every Tuesday, where the streets are lined with stalls selling produce from local farms. Less than half a mile away is the centre of Hawes, offering a combination of pubs, coffee shops and eating places, and is a short walk from the famous Wensleydale Creamery. The town is close to many hiking trails, notably the Pennine Way, which stretches from the Scottish Borders to the Peak District in Derbyshire. Dedicated film buffs may also recognise the location, which was featured in the 1991 movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
The cottage is accessed by the first-floor porch, up a flight of 12 external stone steps. Once inside, you are greeted by the kitchen and lounge, where you’ll instantly be struck by the stunning views of the Dales. The spacious lounge also features a small balcony where you can enjoy some fresh country air, and a wood burner which is ideal to cosy up beside and relax after a long day of exploring. The stylish kitchen provides all the mod cons needed to give a home-from-home feel. When you’re ready to recharge, two spacious bedrooms await on the second floor, along with a bathroom and separate WC next to it.
Head back down the steps outside to ground-floor level, where there is a garage which houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. A table tennis table has been set up for entertainment in here, and it also provides secure bike storage for those looking to tour the Dales on two wheels.
