With a well-thought-out layout, this large upside-down house makes the perfect base for a large family or group to enjoy Loftus and the surrounding area. Loftus is a small village with which lies between the North York Moors National Park (1.5 miles away) and the bustling seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea (5 miles) – with a Victorian pier, cliff lift and gardens. Enjoy a trip to the quaint seaside town of Staithes, 4.5 miles from Loftus, to visit its tea rooms, pubs serving excellent sea food, and a mixture of independent shops to suit all tastes. Or stay local and enjoy the pubs, shops, coffee shops and cafes in Loftus. There are also plenty of walks on the doorstep. Take a stroll through the fields to Hummersea Nature Reserve and Skinningrove Beach and join up with the waymarked Cleveland Way. For a fun day out, take a ride on Saltburn miniature railway (5 miles away) or visit the popular seaside town of Whitby (18 miles) and beautiful Robin Hood’s Bay (22 miles).

On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to two bedrooms, one lovely king-size and the other, a cosy twin, that can be made up as a king-size on request. Both rooms have ample storage and there’s also a family bathroom on this level. Slightly steep stairs lead up to the first floor. All the living space is up here, along with the master bedroom ¬with its king-size four-poster bed, ample storage, and an en-suite with walk-in shower. The thoughtful touches extend to the living room, where you can relax on the 6-seater sofa while enjoying views of the woodland or get together for a meal in the dining area. The kitchen has a large breakfast bar with four stools, ideal for grabbing a quick bite to eat or a coffee to start the day.

There’s a small entrance courtyard at the front of the property.

Cleverly designed cottage, and equipped to a high standard. A nice touch is provision of plenty of cutlery and crockery - many properties only provide one of each item per person, which means washing up after every meal, or even between courses. Loftus is ideally located for exploring, we visited Redcar, Whitby, and Robin Hoods Bay. Be aware thatRead more if you bring a dog, you will need to take them down the road for their comfort stops. But it's not far to a very nice walk down by the beck which you can make into a route back via the high street. There is only room for one car outside the cottage. And while one photo shows the sofa as being an electric recliner, but they are not connected and don't recline. Hide

A very nice well equipped property. The only two negative points were 1. I had to ring for the key code to access the property, unfortunately the number I was given over the phone was incorrect, or I had written it down incorrectly. It would be better if the number was emailed or sent by text to avoid this issue. 2. Parking near the property (and iRead moren Loftus itself) is very limited. On one occasion we could not get outside the property but were able to get the last available on street space nearby. If we had not got that space I am not sure where we would have been able to park. While this wasn't a major issue for us on this occasion iy could be a problem, especially for someone with mobility issues. Hide
