This lovely, converted barn makes the perfect romantic retreat for two in the country. Bright and airy, the large barn has wooden beams and vaulted ceilings, as well as stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors which look out over the patio and garden. It’s in a peaceful, rural location just outside the bustling market town of Pickering, where you can hop onto the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which meanders to the coastal town of Whitby through breathtaking moorland. Visit Pickering Castle (2.5 miles away) and the Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life (2 miles) for fun day trips. Each October, the town is transported back to the 1940s for the Pickering War Weekend, with fantastic costumes, stalls and period vehicles. Explore the North York Moors National Park, just 4 miles away, with boundless walking routes through the stunning countryside.
Upon entering the property, you’ll find yourself in the stylish open-plan sitting/dining/sleeping area. At one end of the room is the gas-effect wood burner surrounded by comfy sofas, whilst at the other you’ll find a very comfortable king-size bed. The dining area has a view over the garden, perfect for a spot of bird-watching – with luck you may even see a woodpecker. When you want to relax, there’s a television to enjoy. For cooking, you’ll find a separate kitchenette and there’s also a separate bathroom with bath and rainfall shower.
Soak up the sun at the end of the day with a drink on the patio or go out after dark to gaze at the stars. There’s a table and chairs for you to use, and on occasion the owners will join you there.
