One of three properties situated on the owner’s farm, this 200-year-old single-storey barn conversion affords families and small groups of friends a homely base from which to plot adventures in the Yorkshire Wolds. Holme-on-Spalding-Moor (1 mile) offers places to eat and drink, with plenty of walking and cycling routes nearby, including the Bubwith Rail Trail (within 400 metres). As well as friendly pubs and eateries, York (19 miles) is home to an iconic Minster and The National Railway Museum.

Enter through double doors into an open-plan living area featuring a lounge where comfortable seating, a TV and a wood burner sit between high ceilings and heated flooring. Two sets of patio doors enjoy views over the garden and fill the space with natural light. The lounge leads around to a spacious kitchen/diner where family favourites can be prepared and enjoyed. A shower room sits off the living area, as does a spacious king-size bedroom with an easy chair, and a relaxing double bedroom.

Outside, the shared courtyard garden (shared between the three properties) is a wonderful, open space where seating is arranged under a pergola surrounded by gravel. A shared games room has its own pool table, a fridge, comfortable corner seating and a TV, ideal for watching an evening film or the big match with chilled refreshments in hand.

The cottage was excellent, the presentation is first class and the owners are welcoming and helpful. The bedrooms are really comfortable. Overall I would recommend the cottage as a wonderful place to stay and use as a base to use for exploring York, Beverley and the surrounding Yorkshire Wolds.
