Set in the heart of Pickering on the fringes of the North York Moors, this charming 18th-century cottage offers the perfect base to couples and small families planning Yorkshire adventures together. The market town of Pickering is on the doorstep and acts as your gateway to the surrounding national park. Join one of the many nearby walking and cycling trails or stay closer to home and enjoy the local attractions – a highlight being the North York Moors Railway just 200 metres from the property. Elsewhere in Pickering, discover the 13th-century castle, enjoy a night at the theatre, and find a wide choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants for the days you don’t fancy cooking. For days on the coast, the Yorkshire resorts of Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Scarborough and Filey are all within 22 miles of the property.

Step off the historic streets of Pickering and into the warm embrace of this wonderful cottage where original features combine with modern amenities to provide a comfortable stay for all. Kick off walking boots in the entrance and notice charming touches such as the exposed ceiling beams and rustic stone walls that hint at the property’s past. Head to the lounge to unwind after days of adventure; sink into the soft seating and flick on the Smart TV for some easy entertainment. When stomachs start rumbling, a galley-style kitchen stands ready with everything needed for cooking up Yorkshire feasts, to be enjoyed in the sweet dining nook or alfresco-style in the garden when the weather permits. Completing the ground floor is a handy WC. At the end of each day away, head upstairs and retire to a choice of two restful double bedrooms, both of which boast calming tones, views of the steam railway, and en-suite shower rooms to avoid any queues in the morning.

You’ll find plenty of space to relax, dine and wine outside, starting with the gravelled terrace with bistro-style furniture, perfect for morning cups of coffee. There are 11 steps up from here which are fairly steep, leading to a more elevated garden with seating for outdoor meals. For extra convenience, guests receive a pre-paid parking permit for Platform 3 Car Park roughly 150 metres away.
