Nestled in the stunning valley of Garsdale, it’s less than a mile from Garsdale Head Station. Surrounded by rugged wilderness, there are lots of walks and bike rides straight from the cottage door, including the walking route to Appersett (5 miles away), which passes the impressive Cotter Force waterfall on the way. Walk, cycle or drive a further mile to reach the magical market town of Hawes and visit the museum there to learn about the local area. Head to Bolton Castle (17 miles away) to explore the impressive medieval castle and gardens, with a maze and vineyard. The town of Settle is 26 miles away and has a fascinating rich heritage. It is well worth visiting the bustling market town of Kendal (21 miles away), which has an intriguing history and regular cultural events to enjoy.

Head into this delightful property via a porch where there’s plenty of space for coats and shoes. You’ll find a lovely large living room with lots of comfy seating, a TV, a cosy wood burner set in an attractive fireplace, and gorgeous country views from the bay window. A door leads from here to the laundry room and outside. Upstairs are two inviting bedrooms – a king-size and a double. Each room is decorated in soothing, neutral tones and they all benefit from wonderful country views. There is also a refreshing bathroom on this floor.

We really enjoyed our stay at Moorcock cottage, it's nice and peaceful and has everything you need. Hawes is only 15min away with some great places to eat, I recommend the White Hart Inn. We would definitely come back again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 2 Moorcock Cottage. We booked just the day before arrival and yet the property was immaculate when we arrived. The host was very friendly and communicated well with us. The cottage was warm, cosy, nicely decorated, very well equipped with appliances, utensils, games, towels. It had everything we needed. The locatioRead moren was lovely and a great base for exploring both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The new outside toilet is a great addition to the property and came in very handy when getting back from a long day walking through the hills. It is a very good size cottage and was perfect for our family of 2 adults, 2 children and 2 Labradors. We have already recommended staying here to friends and family and we definitely hope to return ourselves in the future. Hide

The cottage was really well presented with lots of lovely touches to make it feel homely. There was a vast range of items provided in every room that made it some much easier being away from home! All the small things that youd normally forget!! The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! All 6 of us said the same. In the run up to the wRead moreeek, we were given plenty of information, along with regular updates from the owner to let us know that the property was ready early in case we were in the local area. When we did contact the owner, he was lovely and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. In short, we loved it, and all of us will be returning another time. Hide

We were lucky enough to be the first visitors to 2 Moorcock Cottages and found the owners had done a super job. The location is absolutely brilliant as a base to walk from, with Hawes just 5 miles down the road. Loved the kitchen with an excellent array of pans. Laundry also much appreciated.
