This delightful barn conversion sits in the grounds of the owner’s farm surrounded by fields and moorland. It’s the perfect romantic retreat for a couple looking to get away from it all in the beautiful North York Moors with walks from the door. Head out on foot to explore the National Park or wander to the nearby bluebell woods, which are stunning in the spring. The village of Glaisdale is on the Esk Valley walk, a 37-mile route which follows the river Esk from its source high on the Moors all the way to the coast at Whitby (an 8.5-mile walk from the property) – just follow the leaping salmon waymarkers. Go fly-fishing on the river and learn the romantic story of the beggars’ bridge across the river just outside Glaisdale (0.5 miles away), said to have been built by a farmer’s son in the 17th century to reach his sweetheart. Uncover the area’s past at the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum (15 miles away) and enjoy a trip to the Museum of Victorian Science where there are often fun and fascinating live demonstrations (0.5 miles away).

Head through the glass front door of this delightful property, into the spacious lounge area with beautiful features including a vaulted, beamed ceiling and Yorkshire stone wall. There’s a comfy leather sofa and armchair to relax on while watching TV or enjoying the view, and a cosy wood burner to snuggle around in the chillier months. This light-filled space also includes a compact and colourful kitchen area and a round dining table and chairs sat next to a charming dresser. There’s also a shower room, with a tiled floor and a double walk-in shower, on the ground floor. Up the stairs, on the mezzanine floor the gorgeous double bedroom. From the bed, you can look out on the traditional A-frame beams and down to the lounge, or out of the window offering wonderful countryside views.

To the front of the property is a patio with a table and chairs, and there’s a fenced-in gravel area at the rear with seating, a BBQ and views of the valley and sweeping countryside - the perfect spot for a romantic evening under the stars.

The property was absolutely stunning inside and out, the owners were lovely and kept in touch when needed throughout our stay. The property was very cosy, clean and extremely well equipped, the log burner was lovely and the Christmas tree was beautiful as we spent our first Christmas there with our 7 month old baby boy. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

This was the most comfortable holiday cottage that we have ever stayed in. The little basket of dog bowls, towels etc was a very nice touch. The view is amazing and is lovely to sit outside with a cup of coffee every morning. Couldnt ask for more.

A lovely cottage which has been renovated to a very high standard. A great escape from it all! A great base to go walking.Towels and bedding are of good quality and very clean. There wasnt anything else we needed - it had it all! We could have done with a barrier under the gate for our small dog.

This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It's in a great location for getting out and about. The cottage is beautiful inside and out and little touches like dog towels, bowls and treats made us all feel very welcome. We will definitely stay here again.

Property and location very good and ideal for a dog. One observation is directions could be clearer as it took us a while to locate and only did so after asking several locals. No sign of pet shop which was fundamental to find location. No one we asked in village had heard of one and locating it was vital to find other pointers.
