If you’re looking for a restful getaway in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, this two-bedroom cottage provides a truly relaxing home-from-home base. Just 3.5 miles from Kirkbymoorside and 5 miles from Pickering, you’re well-positioned for enjoying easy-going activities in both towns. Both offer plenty of locally owned businesses to peruse, as well as offering an abundance of starting points for scenic walks in the nearby countryside. The surrounding National Park is awash with fascinating Roman history.

A great base for hiking, sight-seeing and nice meals out or at home, Victoria Gardens is perfectly located to explore the North York Moors, Helmsley, Dalby Forest and Castle Howard and the Howardian Hills, or simply to have some rest and relaxation in the village itself with walks, quite literally, from the doorstep.

Sinnington is a very attractive village; the River Seven intersects the village common, quite typical of the area and it boasts a popular dining pub, serving food in both a cosy bar and a stylish restaurant, and a lovely 12th century church interestingly made, in part, of pre-Norman, recycled crosses.

A fortuitous location, it is between Pickering and Helmsley, wonderful towns renowned for their eateries, shops, galleries and variety of attractions. This means that whether you want friendly locals, brunch on the doorstep and a plethora of antiques and local craft shopping, or fine dining, outdoor adventures and historic attractions you will be spoilt for choice in the local area, both immediate and close-by. The Yorkshire coast, too, is just under an hour away.

Laid out over two storeys, this snug little cottage is maintained with a traditional décor that’ll please anyone hoping for an authentically rural stay. Step inside to find a warm and welcoming lounge space with a feature fireplace, plenty of comfortable seating and a Smart TV to ensure you’ll always stay entertained when enjoying nights in. Just next door sits a spacious kitchen/diner with a dining table positioned by the window to enjoy garden views. Modern appliances are fitted here in the kitchen so be sure to stock up on groceries for the days on which you decide to cook at home. Discover two equally as welcoming bedrooms on the first floor, alongside a shared family bathroom which serves both rooms. One bedroom is made up as a double with views out across the garden and the other is made up as a king-size bed with zip-and-link beds to be made up as twins if required.

There are beautiful walks on the doorstep such as Cropton & Appleton moors, there is a local award-winning farm nearby and beautiful pubs in Cropton, Appleton & Lastingham.

Step out into the garden to enjoy the peace and quiet that this village location offers. The fully enclosed garden is partially set to lawn and partially paved, complete with a picnic bench for eating outdoors.

Very much enjoyed our stay here, in the lovely village of Sinnington. When we stayed, both neighbouring houses were empty, so made for a very quiet and peaceful setting, such as sitting in the back garden. There is free parking immediately outside. The WiFi was acceptable, the bedroom spacious, a good bathroom, and the kitchen-diner, although not bRead moreig, was very pleasant. The only thing missing was a dish-washer. We would certainly consider staying here again. Sinnington itself is ideally based for the Yorkshire Moors and coast. Places like Goathland, Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Castle Howard no more than 45 minutes driving - so the village is very well placed. Hide
