First time here for myself, partner and twin 11 year old boys. After a 31/2 hour drive up from Northamptonshire it was lovely to step in, to find tea, coffee milk and biscuits left for us so we could just switch the kettle on and have a rest. On arrival the cottge was spotless, It's spacious, modern and yet still feels cosy, There is plenty of rooRead morem in the 2 bedrooms and very spacious bathrooms, it had every apliance you could want and really felt like home from home, There is a large entrance hall between the main outer door and the door to the cottage for all your shoes , coats , buckets , spades etc and there was plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen for supplies. The two bedrooms had buit in cupboards for clothes and each bed had storage drawers too, towels were provided and a hairdryer. Included in our stay was a pass to Sledmere house & Gardens which got us in for free along with acess to the Maize Maze, there was also free games to play such as frisbee, rounders , quiots, football & footgolf, we spent the whole day there FOC and just paid for coffee and cake ( fantastic cake!!!). its quite a quiet village and we did have a bIt of a drive to the nearest shop, however all the coastal places were within a very easy 15 - 20 min drive. The cottage also has parking which was right outside the door but off of the main road, so safe for the kids to get in / out of. There is a pub in the village just a short walk up the road however we did not visit as children have to vacate by 8pm and we didnt get back with enough time to allow us to go , eat and be out by then, so cannot say what it is like. We had to contact the host about one little thing but she was fantastic, got back to us straight away and all was sorted. She also sent us ideas of places to visit. My partner loved it here so much he was already contacting them about next years holiday as we were locking up to leave & he has never done a return visit to any where we have stayed before ! Hide

The cottage is in a beautiful part of this country, but, its location on a fast road made it noisy in the early morning and sometimes late in the evening. The short spiral stairs might be awkward for some folk. Small points, really, but I would have liked a couple of tea towels provided and a cheese grater! A lovely part of the world and a holiday Read morewhich we greatly enjoyed. As part of the 'older' generation we would be very unlikely to return again. This is in no way a reflection on the good accommodation. Hide

This place is lovely. Spacious and clean. A home away from home. The neighbours were lovely (sheep and pheasants). Not much in the village, but unlimited entrance to Sledemere House and Gardens was included during the stay which was worth around 12-18 per person, per visit. Which we went to multiple times. If you want to get away from city life thiRead mores place is ideal, based in a quiet chocolate box village setting, this is the place for you. We did not want to go home. Would highly recommend.
