Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom abode makes a wonderful Yorkshire retreat for an extended family, two families together or a group of friends eager to escape together.

Venture upstairs to discover the beautiful lounge, with its high, vaulted ceiling, oak beams and revealed stonework. Light the wood burner in here to create a cosy ambience then settle down on the sumptuous seating to watch the Smart TV.

Head through to the fully equipped kitchen, where a central island with a breakfast bar makes a great spot to perch while the cook rustles up a home-cooked feast, then dine in here, down in the dining room or out in the sunshine.

A king-size bedroom, with a Smart TV, and a super-king size bedroom, which boasts a private balcony and fell views, are also at this level, together with another family bathroom.

For the ultimate games night, head out to the garden and discover a fantastic games room complete with multi-games table, with table tennis, snooker and air hockey, a full-sized bar with a wine and beer cooler and a Smart TV. There is another wood burner in here for chilly evenings.

The cottage looked to be everything we would want from a stay in the Yorkshire Dales. A very picturesque location, with many walks straight from the door. However, the cleanliness and general upkeep let us down, as did the damp carpet by the main bedroom patio door. The property lacked some of the basics needed for a self catering stay. We enjoyed our stay! The village is small & quiet. It's well located near to other larger villages with more amenities and were well placed to explore the Dales. The pub is practically next door and they do great food. The games room was brilliant, and we also enjoyed the lovely garden space.
