Discover this beautifully decorated two-bedroomed cottage located in the centre of the desirable town of Whitby. While it sleeps four, it’s also ideal for a romantic getaway to the seaside. Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long, sandy beach and delicious seafood. The River Esk flows through the town to the sea and the cobbled streets and historic yards provide a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in several shops. There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms. The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline.
Six steps lead up to the property and into the lounge with its oak flooring and comfortable seating. Watch the TV in here, throw a log or two on the wood burner or read your book in the window seat. The kitchen/diner has the same style of flooring, and space to cook and then sit down and eat. Move up the steep cottage-style staircase to the first floor where the two bedrooms are found. One has a king-size bed with a window seat with views across the harbour, and one has twin beds. The bathroom is also found on this floor.
The patio area to the front of the property can be a sun trap and has a bistro-style table with chairs.
