Lovely house with large windows, a beautiful outlook and wildlife to spare. The upside down layout takes full advantage of the location. All this, yet only a few minutes from a large,well-stocked farm shop and a few miles from Richmond, Darlington and Barnard Castle with attractions, local culture, country and more commercial shopping.

An attractive, comfortable house in a particularly lovely location, with a very large private garden and uninterrupted views across the countryside. Fully equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable relaxing stay, including a great hot tub, also with views. Thanks to the local OS map provided by the owner we were easily able to find many diRead morefferent types of walks directly from the house, especially as most are clearly marked with signposts, which is a real bonus. Several excellent local pubs (less than 15 minutes' drive) serving food are definitely worth a visit, as is a very local huge farm shop complex. Owners/managers were helpful and flexible. Would love to return. Hide

We had an amazing stay at Broom Barn and would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway in the countryside. We loved the hot tub and the fire in the lounge. The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated the milk and biscuits! The house and garden were extremely private with no other houses overlooking and the hosts do not live on site meaning weRead more had the entire place and surroundings to ourselves. Hide

Stunning location, building, comfy beds & settees, lovely & warm but general lack of attention to detail all round unfortunately gives the impression of tired couldnt carelessness Owners should spend a weekend in their property & cast a critical eye in all directions in order to make this slightly tired property sing again

A stunning property in a lovely setting, very peaceful area. A delightful barn to come back and chill in the hot tub after a days sight seeing. Near to Richmond and a little further south the Catterick garrison both good for shopping and fuel as both are just a short hop off the A1 when on the way back after a day out. Gilling West has a nice frienRead moredly local village pub about a mile away with a beer garden out back. Home from home. Hide

The cottage is very spacious, generally well equipped, in a lovely location and is ideally situated for Richmond and other local attractions. It has a huge front and back garden which can be sued for playing games, having a picnic or just relaxing. It also has a large hot tub which was the icing on the cake!

Perfect location with Enormous grounds. Our kids could play out for as long as they wanted. Views from every room. Comfortable beds and living areas. Great tv. Tastefully decorated throughout. We visited Richmond, west gilling and some farm shops. We would happily spend longer than 3 nights next time.
