Set in a quiet cul-de-sac in Ilkley, this detached home is a wonderful base for adventures in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It lies on the edge of the world-famous Ilkley Moor where you can admire the unique rock formations locally known as the Cow and Calf Rocks. Just 1 mile away is the heart of the town with its shops, pubs and the iconic Bettys Cafe and Tea Rooms. And on sunny days, very little tops a refreshing dip in Ilkley’s open-air lido. If you fancy venturing further afield, you could hop aboard the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (10.5 miles) and journey through Bronte country on a steam train, or discover local towns and attractions such as Bolton Abbey (6 miles), Pateley Bridge (16 miles), and Grassington (19 miles).

From the entrance hallway, head through to the comfortable lounge where you can sink into the sofa or one of the armchairs beside the electric fire and watch a film on the TV. A study offers a selection of books if you fancy reading instead, as well as a desk if you need to catch up on any work whilst you’re away. Also on the ground floor is a kitchen, dining room with French doors to the garden, and a handy WC. A bathroom and four bedrooms can be found upstairs on the first floor: two king-sizes (one with an additional folding bed), a double, and a single bedroom.

Outside, a large, mature garden features a patio area where you can dine alfresco during the warmer months while the kids are entertained with the wooden playhouse, up a couple of steps on the lawn.

House could have done with a deep clean but was a good size for 7 people and in a great location.

Middleton View is a lovely, spacious and welcoming place. The bedrooms are well presented and spacious, even the smallest single room is plenty big enough. The downstairs layout lends itself to family gatherings either relaxing in the lounge or enjoying a meal around the large dining table. We didn't make much use of the garden but it is like an exRead moretra room particularly in the warm weather. Sheltered and well maintained it would also be great for those with young children. We were using the house as a base from which to attend larger family gatherings in celebration of my father's 90th birthday so didn't do much exploring of the area. There are many places of interest nearby though and Ilkley itself has a lot to offer in terms of eating and drinking places. All in all a great holiday home. Hide
