Steal away to this gorgeous, stone barn, 1 mile from Hornsea, and enjoy the very best of the Yorkshire coast. Nestled on a working farm where the owners also live, but enjoying its privacy, the one-bedroom retreat sleeps just two guests, making it the perfect base for a romantic getaway.

Also welcoming one canine companion, this inviting holiday home could be perfect for anyone seeking to walk the England Coast Path, perhaps attempting the 18-mile stretch from Hornsea to Withernsea. Indeed, the area is a veritable paradise for those who enjoy the outdoors, with many walks and cycle trails straight from the doorstep.

The old Victorian resort of Hornsea itself offers long sandy beaches and an attractive promenade with well-kept gardens. Hornsea Freeport is popular for shopping and Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve, with one of the largest mainland puffin populations in Britain, is just 18 miles away. Also spend a day visiting the nearby market town of Beverley, 14 miles from the barn.

Open the door to your single-storey Yorkshire bolthole, one of two holiday homes on the site, and step inside to find an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, immaculately finished and with a comfortable, homely feel. Relax on the sofa together after long days out exploring, perhaps in front of a good movie on the Smart TV. Wander over to the kitchen area to rustle up a romantic meal with the tasty produce you have shopped for and find it well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

Dine at the breakfast bar with your loved one and unwind with a glass of wine after a day of exploring. When day turns to night, head through to the colourful double bedroom to lay your head on your pillow. Wake up and indulge in a hot shower in the stylish shower room.

Spend sunny mornings out in your private courtyard garden. Light the BBQ here on balmy evenings and enjoy a cocktail as the sun goes down. Find you have off-road parking for one car and secure cycle storage.

A beautiful, immaculately clean and comfortable cottage. I loved it so much I'm planning to return in 2026 to do some more walking in the area. I would definitely recommend this cottage to other people.

The Byre is a conversion which has been well throughout out. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dishwasher is an important feature because cooked our own meals. While the property is cozy, it was too snug for two adults and two dogs to unwind together. The bedroom TV is a nice touch, but some might prefer more communal space to relax. The gardenRead more was secure area which the dogs loved. Given the dark nights the outside area was well lit. Hide

Fantastic clean and comfortable accommodation for a couple and our labrador. Really good use of space and all the equipment you need and everything sparkling like new! Not far to walk to the beach and lots of open space around. Loved the horses over the fence! Have already recommended to our friends and showed lots of pictures to everyone. We are a couple with 2 dogs who wanted a weekend break next to the sea before our first baby arrives next month. The Byre was an excellent option for us - I really liked that it was dog friendly and there is a completely enclosed back garden. The accommodation is exceptionally clean and well kitted out. There is parking immediately outside the builRead moreding, and the dog friendly beach at Hornsea is a 5 min drive away (with free parking). The bed at the property is very comfy with fab sheets. We enjoyed our week in the cottage. It is conveniently located just over a mile from Hornsea. We walked into Hornsea vis Sandy Lane bridle path and Cliff Road, a pleasant walk. The cottage had a TV with integral DVD player which was convenient. The TV was quite high on the wall of the living room, which my wife found a bit awkward. The kitchen/diniRead moreng area was small, the sink didn't have a drainer and my wife who is 5' 2" found getting onto the dining stool a challenge. For a week it was OK. Hide

Lovely little cottage, very clean, nice bathroom, good sleep. It's all there what you need to cook. You can have a barbecue in the backyard. I stayed 2 nights and it was just right. Were seeing a concert in Hull, so it was perfect.

A lovely barn conversion/ apartment. Fully equipped for all of your needs. It is a considerable walk to the nearest pub, but easily reachable by car as is the sea front. Lots of attractions near by. The hosts were attentive and accommodating. I would definitely stay again.

Nice cottage , though small . Well thought out and spotlessly clean and modern . Does need more comfortable seating but apart from that we liked the cottage very much . We did thoroughly aporeciate the welcome pack which was a very kind thought and the outdoor seating area was lovely . .

Id like to give 10 stars for this accomodation. It was delightful, and superb value for money. We could not have booked a nicer place for the price. Dog walking is superb in the area, with easy access to a metalled path where the Pennine Way begins, look for Marlborough Road and its at the end of that. The kitchen was well equipt, we did cook frequRead moreently. The cottage had a modern feel, and the shower was smart and worked well. A great place to stay for visiting local places. Hide
