Located amongst the bustling streets of Ripon, this exclusive apartment forms part of a converted chapel that retains many of its beautiful original features, providing a wonderful base for couples and small groups to explore this historic Yorkshire town. Known for its majestic cathedral, fascinating museums and rolling calendar of events such as the International Music Festival and Ripon Races, Ripon has something to offer guests of all tastes and interests.

Accessed via a shared hallway and stairs up to the first-floor accommodation, you are met with a welcoming sense of homeliness, inviting you to pour your favourite tipple and find a comfortable spot to settle in. The interiors have been thoughtfully finished and have heaps of personality, decorated in a style that’s colourful and quirky with eclectic artwork and cheerful soft furnishings.

Your open-plan living space features unique curved walls, original floor-to-ceiling arched windows and wooden flooring, and the lounge area is home to a set of unusual yet deliciously cosy sofas that are perfect for curling up with a hot drink. Snuggle down to watch films with bowls of buttery popcorn, or simply kick back and appreciate the atmosphere. The SkyTV is a bonus for blustery afternoons, and there’s a selection of books and board games for light entertainment.

Whether you are whipping up a simple breakfast or something a little more decadent, the kitchen has everything you need to transform your locally sourced ingredients into a delicious feast. This contemporary space features an electric oven, hob and a microwave as well as a useful fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. There’s a breakfast bar for sipping leisurely drinks or savouring light snacks, but for more formal meals the dining table is a treat for candlelit suppers.

The first bedroom is tucked away behind the lounge/kitchen/diner and is a sanctuary thanks to the soothing decor, crisply dressed bed and simple yet chic bedroom furniture. Wake up, rejuvenated and ready for a day of adventure, slipping to the adjacent bathroom with a shower over the bath for an invigorating shower or a long soak.

A door leading from the hallway reveals a spiral staircase that winds up to the first floor where you’ll discover a marvellous master bedroom with gently sloping ceilings, a large bed and a circular window on the feature wall that’s painted in bold colours. This exquisite bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, and there’s lavish seating and ample storage. Mind your head on the walls, and take care on the stairs as they are open-tread and narrow.

Everything has been considered to enable you to leave your worries at the door and unwind with helpful extra touches such as a welcome voucher for the local supermarket on arrival, and the use of a picnic basket for all those scenic walks you’ll soon be enjoying. Practical details are covered too with the inclusion of a handy utility cupboard with a washer/dryer, availability of two bike mounts for bicycle storage outside and off-road allocated parking for one car with an additional guest parking area if needed.

On balmy summer evenings, the shared garden is a pleasant spot to savour a glass of wine and bask in the last rays of sunshine. There’s garden furniture, lawn space and there are shops, pubs and restaurants within a short 0.5-mile walk.

Great quiet location, quick walk to Market Square. The apartment has everything you could possibly need. Very comfortable bed and good shower- we loved the upstairs bedroom suite. All very clean. Good communication with host. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet residential area, no traffic noise etc, all amenities you could possibly need. Lovely open kitchen, massive fridge freezer with a chilled drinks dispenser Two really comfortable beds and a en-suite bathroom each if you need it

This apartment benefits from an excellent location just a short walk from the town centre and a large Tesco store. The owners are very helpful. The smart tv in the lounge is great for finding your favourite programmes on a cold winters evening.

One of the cleanest, comfiest and well equipped places that we have had the pleasure of staying in. The owners have thought of every everything. Since there were just two of us, we used the bedroom on the main floor for our clothes - we didnt think we could manage to get our cases up the spiral staircase - but it wasnt a problem. This is our second visit to No 9 and can thoroughly recommend the apartment. It's colourful and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need in a rental and much more. It's only a few steps into Ripon with it's independent shops and you will find plenty of places to eat. There is a very good bus service into Harrogate and Leeds. We dont usually choose apartments but for being central and having parking we gave it a go. Its a nicely converted chapel, we loved the light from the big windows. The owner Fran made contact and it was nice to know if we needed anything we could ask. Its location is quiet but close to everything, it was our first visit to Ripon and we chose it ratRead moreher than Harrogate as its smaller and quieter but plenty to explore. Over all we had a great week and I would recommend No 9 and Ripon. Hide

Had a lovely week in Ripon. Fran was a great host making us very welcome from even before we arrived. Fran let us know we could arrive early and quickly resolved any queries we had despite herself being away on holiday. A wonderfully peaceful and comfortable base from where to explore Ripon and the surrounding area.

This is a lovely apartment, furnished with flair and imagination. It's well maintained, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location is ideal with plenty to see and do within walking distance and many of the region's attractions are only a short drive away. There's also a variety of excellent restaurants nearby and a Booths supermarket two minuRead moretes walk away. Given the location, the allocated parking space is a real bonus. The property was perfect it was very clean and well equipped. The location is great just a 5 minute walk to the centre . The hosts were very helpful with quick replies to any questions and in the apartment itself there was lots of information re places to see and eat etc . Couldnt of wished for a better place to stay for a weekend at the races.

This is a really well presented apartment in a perfect location with Booths and the town centre only a couple of hundred metres away and yet its peaceful and quiet. Well provisioned kitchen (hardware) and super comfortable bed. Of particular mention is the wealth of information which Fran provides on the City of Ripon and Yorkshire in general. A fantastic holiday let. Very central to the town and shops. Loads of choice for eating out practically on the doorstep. Dedicated parking space was an additional major plus. Towels, bedding, kitchen equipment were al top rate. We are in our 70s, but had no issues with stairs, just took our time !
