Property code: OC-88588

Forget the trials and tribulations of everyday life and look forward to a romantic and relaxing getaway in the Yorkshire countryside. Perfectly appointed for two guests (and one dog, should you wish), this Brompton on Swale property is easily one of the most luxurious in the area. From the miles upon miles of surrounding countryside to the stylish décor within, this idyllic barn conversion is certain to tick several boxes for yourself and your beloved.

As mentioned, this holiday home is simply surrounded by superb views and wide open space. A shared paddock sits beside the property, complete with an enclosed perimeter allowing dogs the freedom to roam, and direct access to a footpath to ensure you can enjoy walks that are literally right on your doorstep. Despite all of this, a stay here will still leave you with a finger on the pulse of Yorkshire village life. The local pub is less than half a mile from home and provides an excellent spot to swing by after a demanding walk.

Despite only hosting two guests, the property benefits from a real roominess that’ll ensure you never feel like you’re pushed for space during your stay.

The open-plan living area is a sprawling L-shaped area with double-height ceilings and light flooding in through skylights and French doors. Authentic wooden beams and exposed brickwork offer the space a traditional country feel, whilst a contemporary décor finishes the room off with a modern twist.

Generously fitted with plenty of countertop space, all of the necessary appliances and a breakfast bar, the kitchen is the place to be at mealtimes. With its Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher and further appliances neatly tucked away in a pantry cupboard, it’s obvious that plenty of thought has gone into making this a guest-friendly space. Your designated chef will adore getting stuck in with some locally produced goodies, all whilst the sous chops vegetables or keeps the cook company from the breakfast bar.

In addition to this more casual seating area, a formal dining table is ready and waiting for all of your meals. The beautiful dining table features room for four guests to sit around, ideally suited to evenings with company. Whilst you’re waiting for the next course, gaze out to the feature wall which has been decorated with a map of the area, helpful for planning your next excursion.

This sociable space wouldn’t be complete without a lounge for seeing the evenings through. Made for nights filled with great entertainment, this area features a Smart TV and two welcoming sofas to curl up in. There’s also a wood burner right here, complete with an ample supply of logs to keep that fire burning. As well as keeping you warm throughout cooler months, this stylish wood burner will emit a lovely orange glow over your space and create the cosiest atmosphere for movie nights. If you prefer to keep the TV off, a Bluetooth speaker is ready to be connected to for a night of great tunes.

You won’t have to go far to reach the one and only bedroom, situated on a mezzanine floor above the lounge. A single flight of carpeted stairs leads up into the eaves of the property and the king-size room. Here you’ll find the rich soft furnishings complement the clean freshness of the linens and the deep patina of the wooden furniture. Alongside a cushy bed, the room benefits from an additional Smart TV so you can keep bingeing that box set long after you’ve climbed into bed.

Last but by no means least, an attractive bathroom awaits. Situated just beside the bedroom, this room is entirely spacious with modern fittings and quality stone-flagged flooring. A statement bath stands alone in one corner of the room, whilst a quality walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head is just beside.

In addition to the shared paddock, the barn conversion benefits from a private allocation of outdoor space that’s yours to unwind in. Step out of French doors from the ground floor to find yourself on a large patio with ample outdoor furniture. Crack open a bottle of your favourite tipple right here, perhaps even toasting marshmallows over the fire pit.

The final gem in this property’s crown is its hot tub. Situated outside, you can flit outside on cold nights and admire the star-studded skies from the warm comfort of the bubbles.

A great little cottage in a very quiet location and in walking distance to a dog friendly pub and some riverside walks. The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into renovating this little gem and have managed to balance combining a modern equipped home whilst retaining the countryside cottage feel. We would rate this one of the best cottages weRead more have stayed in and would highly recommend to anyone. Hide

The location was ideal for our daily trips into the Yorkshire Dales, there is a friendly pub 2 minutes away and a shop directly across the road from the barn. You can walk in to Richmond from the location. The barn itself is tastefully done with all you need for a break.

A great place to stay, well equipped, tastefully decorated and furnished. The underfloor heating is very efficient so the log burner isn't really needed. A lot of the heat goes up to the bedroom, so if you prefer to sleep in the cool, the owners' suggestion that you might like to bring your own (lighter weight) bedding is a good one.
