Dating back to 1850, this gorgeous one-bedroom bolthole has a luxury hotel ambience with all of the additional benefits of a small self-catering country cottage. The ground-floor accommodation consists of a charming sitting room showcasing paintings by local artists on the walls and with a feature fireplace. Other contemporary comforts include free Wi-Fi, an iPod docking station and a variety of games, books and toys so there's plenty to keep you occupied. There are also local maps for the walkers among you. This leads through to a compact but charming kitchen with a dishwasher included. Outside, the cottage has a small southeast-facing unfenced patio accessed via a right-of-way through a neighbour's private garden (not for public use); and facing right onto the lovely medieval churchyard of the old Priory grounds. There are also pretty views across Rosedale Abbey's village green and onto the Moors that surround the little village. From the green, five country lanes head off to all points of the compass, taking you to beautiful locations across the North York Moors and beyond. The cottage also has some off-road parking for added convenience.
