This fabulous five-bedroom period townhouse is located in the heart of an attractive North York Moors village. It is the perfect large luxury cottage in Yorkshire for families and groups of friends. And in 2014, the cottage was awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for consistently excellent reviews.

 

This historical building actually dates back to 1793 when it was used as a Saddlers. Many of the original features have been restored including wonderful oak beams from Whitby ships and a huge inglenook fireplace in the dining room. The decor and furnishings throughout are contemporary but the inherent character of the house remains.

 

The accommodation is set across three floors. Downstairs you'll find an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a cosy wood burner in the fireplace, perfect for the colder months. There is a generous lounge complete with all of the creature comforts you would expect including a large TV with Firestick. The house also includes an MP3 docking station, Nintendo Wii, a PS3 for the kids (or the grown-ups!) for the guest's use.

 

There are three bedrooms (super king, king & double)  and a family bathroom on the first floor. The second floor has a further two bedrooms (a king and a double both with additional single bed) and a shower room with separate WC.

 

There is a charming patio area to the rear of the cottage which includes patio furniture. The front of the property faces the Main Street in Pickering and is a delightful spot to watch the world go by.

Great location and spacious and comfortable. A little noisy but then its centrally located in town so only to be expected, but bear that in mind. We managed to find free parking very nearby for the other cars in our group.

Comfy, clean cottage with lots of space for the six adults and room for the cycles in the shed. Great location, we loved it and would happily return. And when there was a problem it was dealt with as quickly as could have been expected

Wonderful location for facilities and parking easily manageable for 3 - 4 cars only a short distance away. Few minor niggles but did not detract from a pleasurable week - kitchen well stocked,log fire and glorious bathroom. Everyone slept well.

Very nice property, centrally located in Pickering. It was an ideal base for us to explore the surrounding areas, incl Whitby. Communications with the owner was easy. We had a pleasant stay.

Really great property for the 8 of us. The wine and biscuits from the host were great! We made good use of the log burner and took our own logs. Beautifully decorated and furnished and fab location.

Lovely cottage and well maintained throughout. Fantastic location at the end of Pickering's main street, for shops, bars etc. and the entrance to NYMR station is literally just few steps away from the property. Overall, a great weekend.

The whole family of 11 had a really enjoyable relaxing stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely with great facilities and excellent location. The owner was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely located cottage with shops and nice pubs literally on the doorstep. We found it an excellent base for visiting York, the Eden Camp and Flamingo Land. Very comfy both with rooms and the lounge area. really was the perfect base for our holiday

This is a great house for a group of friends or large family group. There is plenty of room. The beds are very comfortable. Theres plenty of equipment to cook a meal and the lounge is a spacious room for everyone to relax in. The outside space is nice to have in warm weather. Overall we enjoyed our stay, great location and plenty of space for 3 generations of the same family to get together. A few small niggles require attention to improve the stay for any future guests which I hope will be taken on board in the spirit they were meant.

It's a lovely old property with character set in a beautiful location of Pickering. Lots to do in the surrounding area within 30 to 40 mins drive. The owners are very approachable and kept in in touch throughout our stay.

The cottage was excellent for our needs and your customer service was excellent as well, many thanks. Can't think of anything that was missing or needed in the cottage - well appointed and supplied with more than enough crockery, glasses etc for our needs. Great location as well convenient for the town and services.

A perfect central location to visit York, Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding attractions etc. Pickering has everything thing you need for a great self catering holiday.

We stayed for 2 weeks in the cottage and had a lovely time. With a family of 8 we had room to spare and all the equipment we needed. The central location in Pickering was perfect and there was so much to see in the erea we could have stayed another 2 weeks for sure. The cleaning could be improved and some equipment can use some updating.
