Located in the popular moorland village of Danby, this delightful stone cottage boasts enchanting views across the Esk Valley. Located around 16 miles inland from the seaside town of Whitby, it’s perfect for active friends and families seeking a rural retreat close to coast and countryside. Arranged over three storeys with a sunny, south-facing front garden, this dog-friendly property is the perfect place to rest and recharge after adventurous days on the moors.

Cosy and welcoming throughout with decor that offers a subtle nod to the surrounding countryside, this property is a true home-from-home. Enter via the enclosed front garden and step straight into a bright and inviting lounge/diner. Two large, plush sofas offer the perfect spot to relax after a long, country walk, in front of a crackling open fire on chilly winter days.

Prepare home-cooked meals in the modern country kitchen, located at the rear of the property. With a double electric oven, hob, microwave and even an icemaker, you have everything you need to cook up a storm, while coffee enthusiasts will enjoy a morning brew from the coffee machine. When you’re ready to dish up, gather the clan in the lounge and feast together, while enjoying spectacular valley views.

If you appreciate a little quiet time away from the main group, slip away to the cosy snug with your current read or take advantage of the books and maps about your surrounds to plan some thrilling walks and days out. Alternatively slip away to the bench in front of the property to enjoy a morning cuppa gazing across the valley, or sip a glass of something chilled in the evening while stargazing in the uninterrupted night’s sky.

When it’s time to rest your head, three inviting bedrooms call on the first floor of the property. The double and twin bedrooms both feature built-in wardrobes, while the snug single room has plenty of drawer space. The master suite sits beneath the eaves on the second floor featuring a king-size bed, a bar table and bar stools positioned overlooking the idyllic countryside, and an en-suite shower room. The family bathroom, with freestanding bathtub and walk-in shower, is on the first floor.

Absolutely lovely house. Gorgeous sunny garden with fabulous view. Very well equipped kitchen and comfy sofas with beautiful blankets. Great location for moors and coast. Bakery and pub very close. The steps up to the 3rd floor room are steep - but perfectly manageable - and the room up there is gorgeous, en-suite and with a fabulous view - ourRead more teens loved it. The house next door is a burnt out shell - but there is a tall hedge so you cant see it from the garden and there is no smell anywhere. So it had no impact on our stay. In fact our kids were fascinated by it - and it made a good talking point about the danger of fire and candles upstairs! Overall lovely place - would definitely book again Hide

Beautifully presented, very clean. So much space. The beds are very comfortable and the slipper bath was a real treat, The owners left a generous welcome pack and wood for the open fire, for which we were very grateful, The views from every window are amazing. Wed highly recommend.

The cottage was wonderful - very relaxing and comfortable. Lovely bedding and beautiful wool blankets dotted about the place. The view from the front for the cottage is out of this world and really could not be beaten. The cottage had a very loved feel and there were ample towels, cutlery, crockery and pans.
