Welcome to this beautiful Yorkshire farmhouse tucked away in exquisite Coverdale. Dating back to the 17th century, this handsome property offers families a chance to escape from busy lives and reconnect with nature. Traditional, elegant and full of character, this is a county retreat you'll want to create memories in. Set in an elevated position in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the views from this grand stone property are spectacular. Stretching across the dale, take some time to just soak the unparalleled beauty in on your drive in. Step inside to discover a period farmhouse which has been sympathetically brought back to life.

In keeping with the feel of the building the decor is one of classic elegance with lots of traditional furnishings and colours giving an authentic ambience. Original stone fireplaces, exposed beams and Georgian-era sash windows add to the period appeal. That's not to say its missing modern comforts, the wonderful Yorkshire flagstone floor is heated throughout downstairs and a heating system keeps the rest of the house toasty warm. At the heart of the home is the spacious sitting room. Comfortable sofas and chairs gather round a large open fire, the perfect welcome home after a day exploring the dales. You'll find books and board games in the book case for some off-line family fun. Just along the hallway is the snug / games room, perfect for children (and adults) to squirrel themselves away in. There's a cosy wood burner in here, a shabby chic sofa and a Smart TV with  DVD player  A large DVD library will keep all age groups happy and Wi-Fi is available for your own devices. A handy downstairs WC is situated opposite the snug on the ground-floor.

This property offers a gorgeous farmhouse kitchen with flagstone floors, whitewashed stone walls, bespoke units and a solid oak worktop. A charming pastry table sits neatly in the centre of the room and a stable door allows you to enjoy those breathtaking views. You'll find all the usual mod cons including a dishwasher, oven, microwave and a fridge with freezer drawer. A washing machine and dryer can be found in the barn across the yard. A formal dining room sits next door, a wonderfully atmospheric room which lends itself to memorable family gatherings around the table. As dusk falls, you could be dining in any one of the previous four centuries.

All four of the bedrooms in the house are on the first floor. Make your way up the amazing original stone staircase to the spacious landing. Most of the upstairs has stripped wooden floorboards underfoot giving it warmth and character. The first bedroom one sits at the rear of the house, a delightful twin with oversized single beds. Bedroom two is across the landing; set at the front of the house the views from this double are stunning. The bathroom sits between both bedrooms and has a bath with a powerful shower.

Bedroom three is along the hallway, another twin, this room enjoys lovely views and has a contemporary en-suite shower room with WC. The final bedroom is a king-size, also front facing it makes the most of the glorious scenery. With only the sound of birdsong to wake you from your slumber in the king-size bed this is a restful space to recuperate at the end of a long or touring. This room also has a generous en-suite with a bath to sink into and soothe your body.

Outside there is sheltered area by the kitchen door. Patio furniture is provided if you fancy lunch al fresco with a Wensleydale backdrop. Listen out for the sound of the river, babbling along at the bottom of the valley and see if you can spot any of the local wild deer. If the kids ever tire of exploring the surrounding countryside they'll be delighted to discover the games room barn, home to a pool table, table tennis table and 'Ring the Bull' game. Arundel Grange is such a nice place to stay. The location and the views are simply amazing. Really good for walking in all directions directly from the doorstap which we have done every day of our stay. We have used all fout bedrooms and all have us had very comfortable sleeps. The kitchen is very well equipped; we particularly liked the Le CreusetRead more crockery and the beautiful mugs. Our contact with the owner was very pleasant and an early check-in gave us the opportunity to arrive, settle in and enjoy the afternoon and evening in the Yorkshire sun. Hide

A beautifully tranquil and spacious house in very picturesque surroundings. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond when we needed help. Perfect for dogs. The kitchen was a little under equipped for us but we cook from scratch every night so it would be ok if cooking simple meals. You cant control your own heating upstairs and we found twRead moreo of the bedrooms and the en-suite very cold as the radiators were ineffective. The approach is very tricky but worth it.
