A lovely bolthole in the North Yorkshire hamlet of Barden, this one-bedroom cottage makes an idyllic rural retreat. Sleeping two people, it offers single-storey accommodation and a gorgeous garden, with picturesque views out across Wensleydale. Located 4 miles from Leyburn and 7.5 miles from Richmond, it is also in a superb setting for the Yorkshire Dales, 7.5 miles away, with its many footpaths and trails. Visit Aysgarth Falls, a triple flight of waterfalls, 11.5 miles from the cottage and within the national park. Have a day out to Richmond, with its museums, theatre, marketplace and Norman castle. While you are there, take a scenic, 1-mile walk out of town, beside the River Swale, to the historic ruins of Easby Abbey.
Let yourselves into this delightful hideaway, which is attached to another property, and discover homely accommodation with a country feel. Settle for a while in the lounge/diner, where you can choose a film to watch together on the TV or DVD player, or simply unwind and chat about your day. Wander through to the kitchen to prepare tasty meals with the Yorkshire produce you have bought, then dine together back in the room next door or out in the beautiful garden. Head through to the en-suite bathroom for a hot bubble bath or shower before retiring for the night in the double bedroom.
Outside there is a pretty, enclosed garden for you to enjoy when the weather is fine. It has lots of lush greenery, outdoor seating and some absolutely wonderful views.
