A handsome, traditional, stone retreat, situated at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this appealing property is just 0.5 miles from the market town of Hawes. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom cottage makes great base for a family or a pair of couples on holiday together. From here, head out into the magnificent dales on foot or by bicycle. Visit beauty spots, such as Aysgarth Falls, 10 miles away, or Cotter Force, a smaller waterfall, 3 miles from the property. Venture into picture-postcard Hawes to buy some of its famous Wensleydale cheese, browse in the market and dine out. Plan a day out to famous Richmond, 23 miles away, within its impressive castle, while you are here too.
Step into the cottage to find yourselves in the generous kitchen/diner. Tear yourselves away from the views in here long enough to put the kettle on or make a meal to sit down to at the table. Take one step into the lounge, where you can stoke up the wood burner on chilly days and bask in its heat as you chat together, watch TV or gaze out through the picture windows. Follow the steep, cottage-style stairs up to the first floor, where a double bedroom, with TV, is one step up from the landing, and a twin room is one step down. The family bathroom, also one step up, is at this level too.
Have a glass of wine out in the seating area to the front of the cottage or the small, walled courtyard space to the rear. Take in the views and enjoy the fresh, country air.
