This upmarket cottage towards the bottom of the old village has been expertly modernised yet is full of character, with old ceiling beams, feature stone walls and interesting antiques and artefacts. The front door of this stone-built property leads out to the winding cobbled streets of the village, which feel unchanged from the days when this was a smuggler’s haven; visit Robin Hood’s Bay Museum to find out more or head to the beach to explore the rock pools or hunt for fossils. Stop in a cafe after to refuel, or why not pick up some fish and chips to enjoy at home?
The ground floor houses the lounge, which has a gas fire to keep you cosy in cooler months. The lower-ground floor is where you’ll find the kitchen/diner, which features an open fire in the Yorkshire range and a door to the balcony. A king size zip-and-link that can be made into a twin is on the first floor along with a bathroom, and a further double bedroom is on the second floor and has an en-suite WC.
The south-facing balcony off the kitchen/diner has table and chairs and and a combined chimenea/grill and provides an excellent place to sit, relax and enjoy al fresco meals.
