Formerly a butcher’s shop and fisherman’s cottage, this cosy and rustic retreat provides a lovely getaway for couples seeking a romantic hideaway along the North Yorkshire coast. Offering views of the sea and the towering cliffs of Ravenscar, the cottage is ideal for keen walkers and holidaymakers exploring this stunning area. Robin Hood’s Bay is a picturesque fishing village known for its twisting cobbled streets, and has a pretty beach and a surprising range of great restaurants, pubs, cafes and independent shops. Heading north along the coast, Whitby is just 6 miles away – a popular seaside town known for its association with the story of Dracula. Also nearby is the lively resort of Scarborough, just 17 miles to the south.
Entering this welcoming cottage, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner occupies the ground floor and makes a great living space with plenty of useful equipment. You can sit back in the lounge area in front of the wood burner to chat about the day or watch TV, while the dining table to the side is perfect for sharing a romantic meal. The fully equipped kitchen is to the rear of the room, perfect for rustling up your favourite dishes. Heading up the first flight of cottage-style stairs, the first floor features a delightful lounge to unwind in at the end of a great day. With plenty of seating and an open fire, this is an ideal space to relax, watch a movie or catch up with a good book. The first floor also has a shower room. A second flight of cottage-style stairs curves up to the second floor where you will find the cosy double bedroom, with plenty of storage space, some handy seating and views out to sea.
